The Health and Safety Representative will assist the Company in promoting a safe working environment and will serve to model health and safety behaviors in the workplace.

An HSE Representative that is a USW member will be assigned to the Safety team and will report directly to the PBU Safety Manager.

The Safety Manager or Safety Supervisor will be responsible for providing work assignments, overseeing performance objectives and completing work performance reviews for the individual.

Job duties may include but will not be limited to the following:

    • Promote health and safety awareness to all employees throughout the Area Operations-West well pads and facilities.
    • Accountable for facilitating delivery of DEC (Direct Effective Control) training for all represented WOA employees and other company employees as directed. Support DEC observation, data collection, analysis and implementation of recommendations.
    • Participate in joint safety audits and conduct impromptu and informal walk thru safety audits.
    • Participate as the USW HSE Chairman and attend the joint Health and Safety Committee meetings. Participate in scheduling, planning, preparing an agenda and recording the minutes from the meeting.
    • Travel to the facilities and well pads to give assistance where needed in the permitting process, hazard assessments and Job Safety Analysis.
    • Coordinating and implementing safety training for all new employees, and other personnel, including presenting elements of PSM.
    • Research and determine solutions to health and safety issues as assigned.
    • Participate in incident, accident, and near miss investigations upon the request of company management.
    • Participate in HAZOPs, MOC, emergency response exercises, and PSM audits.
    • Resource for employees to raise questions or concerns about work practices or conditions and work with the appropriate parties (i.e. Operations Manager, Foreman, Safety Manager/Specialist, Health and Safety Committee, etc.) to develop solutions.
    • Assist in identifying, developing and presenting a site-specific training program to build individual awareness and accountability for health and safety.
    • Perform other health and safety related duties as directed.

Rate of pay for this position is defined in the CBA at 5% above A-tech hourly rate.

The expected duration of this assignment is three years; if the assignment is not extended after three years the employee will be placed into their previous position or a vacant position if not available.
