General Job Description Position Overview The Plumbing Foreman is responsible for leading field crews and overseeing daily plumbing installations while maintaining high standards for safety, quality, productivity, code compliance, and project schedules. This position works closely with project management, general contractors, customers, vendors, other trades, and field personnel to coordinate operations and ensure successful project completion from rough-in through final inspection. Primary Responsibilities Lead and supervise plumbing crews, assign daily work, monitor productivity, and ensure project schedules are met. Review blueprints, specifications, and scope documents to ensure plumbing installations meet project requirements, applicable codes, and company quality standards. Coordinate with project managers, general contractors, inspectors, vendors, other trades, and field personnel to maintain efficient project workflow. Monitor job site safety, workmanship, and quality, and troubleshoot field issues as needed. Coordinate materials, tools, and equipment to support daily field operations while minimizing waste. Prepare plumbing installations for required inspections and address inspection-related items. Track project progress and communicate delays, material needs, change orders, and other field issues to project management. Maintain required job site documentation and ensure compliance with company policies, safety standards, and operational procedures. Perform additional duties as assigned. Minimum Education None Minimum Years of Experience 4-6 Specific Qualifications Required Skills and Abilities Strong knowledge of plumbing installation methods, materials, tools, equipment, and industry practices. Ability to read and interpret plumbing plans, blueprints, specifications, scope documents, and other construction documents. Working knowledge of applicable plumbing codes, construction requirements, and inspection processes. Strong leadership and field supervision skills with the ability to effectively direct and support plumbing crews. Ability to plan work, assign tasks, monitor productivity, and coordinate multiple field activities. Strong troubleshooting, analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills. Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills. Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced construction environment. High level of attention to detail with a strong commitment to workmanship, safety, and quality. Ability to manage multiple priorities, schedules, and deadlines effectively. Ability to coordinate effectively with project managers, general contractors, inspectors, other trades, vendors, customers, and field personnel. Proficiency with applicable mobile devices, software, and systems used for project documentation, communication, and reporting. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite preferred. Strong customer service and relationship-building skills. Ability to exercise sound judgment and make independent field decisions within established company policies, procedures, project requirements, and applicable codes. Ability to pass pre-employment screenings such as background and motor vehicle record checks. English speaking, reading, and writing preferred, and required where necessary to perform job duties, including understanding plans, safety requirements, and project documentation. Spanish speaking preferred. Maintain professionalism and a positive, respectful demeanor with customers, coworkers, contractors, inspectors, and business partners. Education/Experience High School Diploma or GED preferred. Previous plumbing experience required, with demonstrated knowledge of plumbing installation and field operations. Previous experience leading or supervising plumbing crews preferred. Experience with plumbing installations in residential construction preferred. Experience coordinating plumbing work from rough-in through final inspection preferred. Equivalent combination of education, training, and relevant industry experience may be considered. Applicable plumbing license, certification, or other industry credentials preferred, and required where necessary to perform job duties. Physical Requirements Stand and walk for extended periods throughout active construction job sites. Frequently climb ladders and stairs, kneel, bend, stoop, crouch, crawl, reach, and perform other movements necessary to supervise, inspect, and assist with plumbing installations. Perform hand movements necessary for the use of plumbing tools, equipment, tablets, smartphones, computers, and other job-related technology. Lift, carry, push, and pull at least 50 pounds. Work on active job sites, indoors and outdoors, including attics, crawlspaces, confined spaces, elevated areas, and other construction environments. Work in varying weather conditions and environments that may include construction noise, dust, debris, temperature changes, and other typical job site conditions. Wear and properly use required safety gear and Personal Protective Equipment (PPE). Sit for extended periods while driving to and between job sites. Travel as required to support project and operational needs. Maintain dependable transportation and consistent, reliable attendance to meet project, customer service, and operational needs. Ability to work overtime, modified schedules, or occasional weekends as business and project needs require. Communicate effectively in person, by phone, and electronically, including through tablets, smartphones, computers, and other job-related technology. Perform all work on-site and in person; this is not a remote or hybrid position. This position is not eligible for visa sponsorship or work authorization support.
