POSITION SUMMARY:
The Environmental Technician is responsible for providing general field and technical support for projects managed from our Marietta, OH office. The successful candidate will become part of our project team and support environmental investigation, remediation, compliance, and related work on state and federally regulated projects.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES/FUNCTIONS OF POSITION:
  • Provide direct field and technical assistance to Project Managers on environmental investigation, remediation, compliance, and related projects.
  • Perform environmental media sampling, including soil, groundwater, surface water, vapor, and other media as required.
  • Assist with site assessments, field investigations, corrective action, and remediation activities.
  • Assist with remedial system installation, operation and maintenance, field sampling, and equipment maintenance.
  • Perform field data collection and maintain accurate and complete field notes and project documentation.
  • Follow applicable technical and regulatory requirements, project plans, sampling procedures, and KEMRON Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
  • Assist with implementation of corrective actions and other project activities necessary to meet regulatory requirements and project objectives.
  • Work with multidisciplinary project teams in the collection and delivery of complete, accurate, and quality field data.
  • Communicate verbally and in writing with Project Managers and field team leads regarding field observations, findings, project status, and potential issues.
  • Properly operate and maintain field equipment associated with assigned project activities.
  • Comply with all applicable health, safety, and quality requirements.
  • Perform other project-related duties as assigned.
REQUIRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & SKILLS:
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Current valid driver's license.
  • Ability to meet applicable medical monitoring and drug screening requirements.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, and ability to work with electronic documents and records.
  • Ability to understand and follow technical instructions, project plans, written procedures, and KEMRON SOPs.
  • Strong personal work ethic and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively with small and large teams.
  • Well-developed organizational and communication skills.
  • Analytical mindset with problem-solving skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Associate degree in Environmental Science, Geology, Engineering, Chemistry, or another related science or technical discipline.
  • Previous experience in environmental consulting, environmental field work, remediation, construction, compliance, or a related field.
  • Experience with one or more of the following:
    • Field sampling of soil, groundwater, surface water, or vapor
    • Environmental site investigations or assessments
    • Regulatory compliance documentation and report preparation
    • Remediation system construction, operation, or maintenance
WORK ENVIRONMENT AND PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
  • Must be able to work at a computer for extended periods of time.
  • Must be able to work outdoors for extended periods of time, including in varying or inclement weather conditions.
  • Must be able to travel to project and job sites as required.
  • Must be able to traverse varying types of terrain, often on foot, to access sampling locations and observe or perform field work.
  • Must be able to stand, walk, bend, stoop, kneel, and perform other physical activities associated with environmental field work.
  • Must be able to assess the accuracy, neatness, and thoroughness of assigned tasks.
  • Must be able to understand and follow KEMRON SOPs applicable to assigned tasks.
  • Must be able to safely operate a motor vehicle.
  • Must be able to safely operate and handle field sampling and monitoring equipment.
  • Must be able to lift and carry up to 75 pounds at times.
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:
  • Candidate must live within reasonable commuting distance of the Marietta, Ohio office.
  • Ability and willingness to travel based on project needs.
  • Occasional work outside normal business hours may be required based on project needs.
  • Current 40-Hour OSHA HAZWOPER training preferred.
