A leading healthcare organization is building a new in-house consumer payments function and is seeking a Payment Operations Analyst to support transaction reconciliation, chargebacks, fraud/risk monitoring, and payment reporting.

Location: Hybrid / Indianapolis, IN

Job Type: Contract (to potential hire)


Key Responsibilities


  • Reconcile consumer payment transactions from payment vendors into SAP, identifying and resolving discrepancies.
  • Manage chargebacks and disputes, including research, documentation, and Visa/Mastercard reason codes.
  • Monitor payment and fraud risk using PSP tools, including IP-based fraud indicators.
  • Track and report payment metrics such as authorization rates, refunds, chargebacks, and dispute outcomes.
  • Investigate payment issues and coordinate refunds, adjustments, and resolutions with internal teams and external partners.
  • Support payment audits and help establish scalable processes for a newly formed Payment Operations function.


Required Qualifications


  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, Economics, or related field.
  • 3-5 years of payment operations or equivalent experience.
  • Hands-on experience with PSP platforms such as Adyen, Stripe, or similar, including reporting/dashboard tools.
  • Experience with SAP or a comparable ERP for reconciliation and financial reporting.
  • Advanced Excel skills.
  • Knowledge of payment gateways, processors, chargebacks/disputes, and fraud/risk monitoring.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.


Preferred


  • Healthcare, pharmaceutical, financial services, or other regulated-industry experience.
  • Experience supporting a newly established team or function.
  • Familiarity with HIPAA and patient payment data.
