Surveyor - Dayton
Location: Dayton, OH
Employment Type: Full-Time
For over 70 years Fishbeck has been building. As a 100% employee-owned firm, every team member has a stake in what we build together-our work, our reputation, and our future. Now we need to add a Surveyor to help us keep building.
Working with our Survey team, you will support topographic mapping, construction staking, and boundary/control surveying using conventional survey equipment, robotic total stations, and GPS.
What You'll Do
- Adjust and operate modern survey equipment.
- Read and interpret construction plans and specifications to perform construction staking and layout.
- Record survey measurements and descriptive data using notes, drawings, and sketches.
- Perform property research and collect field data to execute boundary surveys.
- Process survey data and create boundary, topographic, right-of-way, and as-built surveys for use with AutoCAD Civil 3D.
- Report directly to a Senior Professional Land Surveyor.
What We're Looking For
- Associate degree in Surveying or Civil Engineering, or equivalent relevant experience required; bachelor's degree in Surveying or Engineering preferred.
- 3+ years of related surveying experience.
- Ability to work independently on project sites while complying with applicable safety requirements.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as a team member.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines.
- Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions, lift up to 50 lbs., walk or stand for extended periods, and perform tasks requiring bending, kneeling, and climbing. Good vision, hand-eye coordination, and spatial awareness are essential.
