Operational Risk/Regulatory Analyst

We are seeking a highly skilled and analytical professional to join a critical team focused on ensuring the integrity and strategic alignment of complex investment activities. In this role, you will not just observe; you will actively drive the evolution of investment oversight, challenge established norms, and contribute directly to the stability and innovation of a significant financial institution. Your expertise will be instrumental in evaluating sophisticated investment structures, enhancing compliance, and bringing fresh perspectives that lead to tangible improvements.

Responsibilities

• Oversee and manage activities related to investment oversight, due diligence, and alternative investment operations.
• Evaluate complex deals, including non-cash assets and illiquid investments, to ensure alignment with business objectives and risk appetite.
• Provide second-line oversight to ensure adherence to the investment policy statement and overall risk management framework.
• Bring a fresh perspective to existing processes, questioning established methods to identify opportunities for validation and improvement.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with seasoned experts in investment oversight, accounting, and legal teams.
• Contribute to the development and enhancement of AI governance programs within philanthropic investment structures.
• Work with large data sets to analyze investment performance, risk metrics, and operational efficiency.
• Make process recommendations to improve efficiency and effectiveness, even when challenging long-standing practices.

Qualifications - Must-Have

• Minimum of 3-4 years of strong, direct experience in investment oversight.
• Proven expertise in alternative investments and/or alternative investment operations.
• Background working within a large financial services firm, Registered Investment Advisor (RIA), or large family office environment.
• Demonstrated ability to perform due diligence and oversight for complex investment structures.
• Understanding of fiduciary responsibilities in investment management.
• Experience with risk management and compliance, particularly in a financial services context.
• Ability to critically analyze and question established processes, offering constructive recommendations for improvement.
• No sponsorship required for employment.

Qualifications - Nice-to-Have

• Familiarity with Donor Advised Funds (DAF) is highly desirable.
• Experience with technology platforms and working with large data sets is a plus.
