Essential Duties and Responsibilities



  • Lead a team of dynamic Sourcing professionals that create/develop, implement and manage various commodity strategies while mitigating risk, improving quality and lead time while reducing cost. Manage team to execute value optimization as well as innovation.
  • Lead creation and execution of commodity strategies (primary and secondary) that align with the directives of the organization and with respect to risk, quality, delivery and cost.
  • Act as a center of excellence for the respective commodities through complete understanding of industry, competition, future technologies and innovations.
  • Commodity Management guidance: Train and provide tools to support new strategy roll out. Lead Ideation workshops to review current state and future trends to fully support strategies.
  • Provide leadership to direct reports in the execution of work plans and short/long term goals. Set, implement department goals in alignment with VP Supply Chain goals.
  • Embrace accountability and responsibility for the Strategic Sourcing management goals and cost savings targets of the organization and implement action items to ensure goals are met.
  • Establish aligned key metrics associated with commodities and hold team accountable to deliver on goals: cost savings, cost avoidance, quality, reliability and timely execution.
  • Develop a Supplier Management Program with suppliers including metrics, performance goals and improvement initiatives. Develop on-site supplier audit to perform at supplier site. Initiate, monitor and own Supplier Scorecard.
  • Define and calculate supplier performance metrics to scorecard. Meet with suppliers periodically to review their performance based on quantitative metrics. Develop improvement plans where necessary/required.
  • Identify and develop supplier relationships with a strong focus on flexibility/agility, quick response times, process flow efficiency, product quality, on time delivery, distribution excellence and supplier reliability.
  • Owns the supplier relationship development and management for the organization in alignment with VP of Supply Chain.
  • Develop and execute supplier contracts/agreements in alignment with the financial objectives of the organization that will ensure supplier performance excellence.
  • Develop and track CI improvement targets for current and new suppliers to achieve world-class cost, quality, service and delivery levels. Help to identify and implement to achieve cost savings opportunities.
  • Participate in Make/Buy Analysis on continual basis to identify and optimize savings opportunities.
  • Optimize and expand supplier rebate program and tracking/follow up mechanism.
  • Analyze industry trends and evolving technology to proactively identify supply base issues to minimize risk, protect continuity of supply, and utilize emerging opportunities for the betterment of the organization. Monitor and report on trend analysis.
  • Lead sourcing events from planning through supplier engagement, evaluation and selection
  • All other duties as assigned by manager

Qualifications



  • Education: Requires a bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management and at least 5 years of experience in the purchasing field or in a related area.
  • Licenses/Certifications: CPM, CPSM, CSM, or equivalent preferred.
  • Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:



    • Six Sigma/Lean Manufacturing a plus.
    • Experiences in a variety of procurement concepts, practices, and procedures.
    • Project management skills that are cross functional.
    • Solid communication skills external and internal to the organization.
    • Experience with global sourcing.
    • Willingness to travel, up to 20%.
