Armstrong World Industries (AWI) has a job opportunity for a West-Coast Region Sales Support Specialist to be located in Lancaster, PA reporting to the Sr. Manager of Design & Specialty Solutions for ProjectWorks, and within the Commercial Digitalization group. As part of the ProjectWorks Team, you will be responsible for utilizing your sales and technical skills, product knowledge, and your understanding of organized project workflows to perform initial project reviews, provide technical support, and ensure the completion of project drawing packages and takeoffs. You will collaborate heavily with the ProjectWorks Sales and Operation Team, Architectural Specialties Team,and with the AWI Sales Team from an internal perspective, as well as company customers in sub-contractors, general contractors, distributors, and architects/designers from an external perspective.The estimated work hours would be 9am - 6pm Eastern, in order to cover west-coast office hours.

Growth & Business Development

  • Builds relationships with internal and external customers
  • Supports selling teams by providing product and technical expertise in a timely manner
  • Supports ProjectWorks team members with thorough scoping of project requests
  • Educates general field sales team looking for technical support on targeted projects
  • Determines customer requirements and expectations in order to recommend specific products and solutions
  • Recommends products based on cost, availability, and specifications in order to increase customer satisfaction
  • Identifies new product opportunities, product installation or performance improvements

Pipeline & Project Management

  • Partners with project managers, design team, and sales reps to aggressively develop project design successes on opportunities
  • Participates and collaborates with internal/external teams to scope project requests in all construction phases.
  • Evaluates and prioritizes project opportunities that drive profitable growth
  • Acts as point of contact between customers and various departments throughout the design & bid phases
  • Manages Design Digital Services opportunities in Sales Force.com
  • Works directly with design team and other subject matter experts to create and refine solutions
  • Provides accurate drawing package documents to customer
  • Provides pre-construction support services to contractors including information/technical support

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

ProjectWorks Associate Sales & Design Analyst - Grade 8

  • Reviews all submitted project requests with Team
  • Participates in all Initial Design Calls
  • Support writing specification upon request
  • Support all project scoping and follow up in all construction phases
  • Updates all project status in SFDC
  • Owns and Updates ProjectWorks request queue
  • Participates in Project Hand Off meetings with internal team members
  • Able to make product solution recommendations with minor supervision

ProjectWorks Staff Sales & Design Analyst - Grade 9 (Grade 8 plus items listed below)

  • Schedules and leads Initial Design Calls
  • Ability to make product recommendations without supervision
  • Ability to work directly with Architects toward proper design considerations
  • Ability to work with ISS/ISSM team to make recommendations to Contractors during Pre-Construction support
  • Increased knowledge of all AWI product offerings
  • High comfort level with customer facing

ProjectWorks Senior Sales & Design Analyst - Grade 10 (Grade 9 plus items listed below)

  • Leader for Sales Support team
  • Functional expert of all AWI product offerings
  • Train and present to any internal or external customers on ProjectWorks offerings and processes
  • Critical member of refining and implementing processes
  • Coordination and Integration of new product/solutions
  • Ability to lead sales efforts for ProjectWorks
  • Track and Report out metrics on monthly basis
  • Manage process improvements

Education and/or Experience

  • Bachelor's degree or relevant construction industry experience required (3+ years' grade 8, 5+ years' grade 9, 7+ years' grade 10)
  • Ability to work in a team environment
  • Proficiency with standard MS Office software
  • Superior organizational & communication skills, attention to detail and demonstrated ability to meet deadlines
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Knowledge SFDC
  • Project management work experience, within construction industry preferred
  • Familiar with estimating, reading blueprints and understanding the construction process preferred
  • Armstrong Product Knowledge across all business units preferred
  • Proven experience in a customer-facing role that includes influencing sales preferred
  • Multicultural experience and bilingual skills are desired

Travel Requirements

  • Travel is expected to be < 10% and may include visits to architects (project support calls), job sites, distribution customers, or to attend conferences/seminars

Office Environment - Requires working indoors in environmentally controlled conditions with standard level of noise common to an office environment including office equipment and co-workers speaking to each other and on phones. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines. 6-foot social distancing and a face mask is required if an employee is not fully vaccinated. Masks are optional for fully vaccinated employees.

While much of the essential functions of the job can be effectively completed off-site/remotely, there is an expectation of all employees to come into the office for regular team and/or project meetings to collaborate with others more effectively on the team. The minimum expectation for employees is to be in the office three days or 60% of their work week.
