Aquent is partnering with a globally recognized leader in high-end home furnishings and lifestyle products, celebrated for its distinctive design philosophy and commitment to quality. This innovative company is at the forefront of transforming living spaces, offering an unparalleled collection that blends timeless aesthetics with modern functionality. They are seeking visionary talent to contribute to their renowned product development.

Are you a master of precision and artistry in the digital realm? We are thrilled to invite a highly skilled professional, specializing in the intricate world of furniture and upholstery soft goods, to join our client's dynamic product development team. This is a pivotal role where your expertise will directly bridge the gap between groundbreaking creative design concepts and the tangible reality of manufacturing. You will be instrumental in bringing luxurious designs to life, crafting photo-realistic renderings that inform critical internal leadership decisions, and generating the dimensionally precise 3D models and 2D CAD drafting packets that empower production vendors to create exquisite pieces. If you have an Industrial Design background and a passion for furniture, you'll find a perfect fit here, directly impacting the evolution of iconic collections.

Key Responsibilities

  • 3D Upholstery Modeling: Craft realistic 3D assets for sophisticated soft goods, encompassing cushions, intricate tufting, precise seam boxing, natural fabric draping, and complex curved frame geometries. Your work will span full collections, including sofas, sectionals, modular units, and standalone accent chairs.
  • Production-Ready Deliverables: Generate technically accurate 3D models and meticulously pull dimensioned 2D CAD drawing sets, ensuring they are perfectly suited for vendor tooling and seamless manufacture.
  • Visualization & Rendering: Produce high-fidelity visual renders that elevate design reviews, presentations, and executive sign-off processes, bringing concepts to vivid life.
  • Design Collaboration: Work hand-in-hand with internal industrial designers, providing essential modeling bandwidth while proactively contributing innovative technical problem-solving ideas to optimize designs.
  • Iterative Design: Demonstrate agility by rapidly adapting models based on feedback, seamlessly incorporating frequent design revisions throughout the entire product development lifecycle.

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • Soft Goods Expertise: Possess a proven track record in modeling complex upholstered furniture, organic shapes, and soft textiles with exceptional visual accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Technical Drafting: Exhibit proficiency in translating intricate 3D volumes into accurate 2D CAD specification packages, complete with clear and precise dimensioning.
  • Mindset & Soft Skills: Be a highly collaborative team player with strong verbal and visual communication skills. You should be receptive to feedback, adaptable to fast-paced revision cycles, and deeply passionate about the art and science of furniture design.

Software Proficiency

  • Proficient in industry-standard 3D modeling and rendering software (e.g., Rhino, Fusion 360, 3ds Max, Blender, or equivalent platforms capable of outputting exact CAD geometry and photo-realistic renders).
