Reporting to the VP, Quality, this leader will have direct responsibility for Site Quality Managers and overall accountability for the effectiveness, compliance, and continual improvement of quality systems, processes, and organizational capability across the network.

This role is responsible for evolving and strengthening the Quality function through a foundation of regulatory compliance, operational discipline, and continuous improvement. The Director will partner with Operations, Engineering, Supply Chain, and site leadership teams to advance quality system maturity, standardize best practices, improve process effectiveness, and enhance overall business performance while maintaining the highest standards of product safety and regulatory compliance.

The successful candidate will provide strategic leadership for FAA Part 21 and FAA Part 145 quality requirements, AS9100 compliance, and oversight of regulatory relationships with the FAA, EASA, CAAC, and other applicable aviation authorities. The individual must be an influential leader capable of driving alignment across multiple sites, developing high-performing teams, and fostering a culture of accountability, learning, and continuous improvement.

What You'll Do

  • Lead, mentor, and develop Site Quality Managers and quality teams across multiple aerospace manufacturing locations, building a culture of accountability, compliance, continuous improvement, and customer focus.
  • Drive the strategy, standardization, and continuous improvement of Quality Management Systems (QMS) across the network to improve consistency, efficiency, and operational performance.
  • Ensure compliance with FAA Part 21, FAA Part 145, AS9100, EASA, CAAC, UK CAA, and applicable customer requirements while supporting business growth and operational excellence.
  • Serve as the senior quality leader for customer audits, regulatory inspections, certification activities, and quality system assessments.
  • Partner with Operations, Engineering, Supply Chain, and Program teams to improve process capability, product conformity, on-time delivery, and overall quality performance.
  • Lead initiatives that reduce customer escapes, audit findings, scrap, rework, and cost of poor quality through data-driven decision making and continuous improvement.
  • Strengthen organizational capabilities in root cause analysis, corrective and preventive actions, risk management, and problem-solving methodologies.
  • Establish meaningful quality metrics, operating rhythms, and governance processes that drive proactive decision-making and sustained results.
  • Represent the Quality organization with customers, OEMs, regulatory agencies, accreditation bodies, and executive leadership.
  • Drive alignment across sites while fostering the development of future quality leaders and scalable best practices.

What You Bring

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Aerospace, Manufacturing, Quality, or a related technical discipline; advanced degree preferred.
  • 10+ years of progressive aerospace quality leadership experience, including experience leading multi-site or matrixed quality organizations.
  • Extensive experience operating within FAA Part 21 and FAA Part 145 environments.
  • Strong knowledge of AS9100 and aerospace quality management systems, regulatory requirements, and industry best practices.
  • Direct experience working with regulatory agencies including FAA, EASA, CAAC, and other aviation authorities.
  • Proven success leading quality organizations, managing audits and inspections, and driving quality system improvements in aerospace manufacturing, PMA, repair station, MRO, or turbine engine component environments.
  • Expertise in root cause analysis, corrective and preventive action systems, risk management, and continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Strong leadership, communication, influencing, and change management skills, with the ability to drive results across cross-functional and geographically dispersed teams.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving capabilities, with a track record of using data to improve quality performance and business outcomes.
  • Ability to travel up to 25%

Preferred Qualifications

  • ASQ CMQ/OE, CQE, or CQA certification.
  • AS9100 Lead Auditor certification.
  • Lean Six Sigma Green Belt, Black Belt, or equivalent certification.
