That's why we're looking for a Client Intake Analyst to perform conflict searches and business intake activities supporting the Firm's new business acceptance process.

The ideal candidate will be responsible for...



  • Reviewing new client and matter requests, amendments to existing matters, and client/matter maintenance requests
  • Conducting conflict searches using Firm systems, databases, and research tools for new matters and change requests
  • Researching clients and conflict parties using internal and external resources (including Hoovers, Dunn & Bradstreet, LexisNexis, and internet searches) to identify potential conflicts, issues, or inconsistencies
  • Analyzing, interpreting, and summarizing conflict search results and research findings for review by the Conflicts Resolution Team, Ethics Committee, and Business Intake Committee
  • Reviewing, validating, and processing new matter openings, client maintenance, matter updates, and change tasks in accordance with established policies and procedures
  • Coordinating with the Ethics Committee, Business Intake Committee, attorneys, and legal and administrative staff to ensure intake requests, file openings, and change tasks are completed accurately and efficiently
  • Monitoring intake queues, Conflict Check Requests, Client Intake Approvals mailboxes, and other intake workflows; prioritizing work and rush requests in accordance with service standards
  • Responding to inquiries regarding client intake, file openings, conflicts, and matter change procedures via email and phone; troubleshooting issues, escalating unresolved matters as appropriate, and following up to ensure timely resolution
  • Maintaining accurate documentation within the intake system


The successful candidate will demonstrate...



  • A bachelor's degree, paralegal certificate, or equivalent experience
  • A minimum of one year law firm experience required; additional experience preferred including experience with new matter intake, conflicts or legal administrative support
  • Working knowledge of legal conflicts and business intake concepts
  • Experience using Aderant, Elite, Intapp, or comparable systems preferred
  • Strong analytical and organizational skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a deadline-driven environment


Pay Range for Candidates in Los Angeles:

$65,000 - $85,000 per year

The range provided is the minimum and maximum salary that Venable in good faith believes at the time of this posting that it is willing to pay for the advertised position. Exact compensation will be determined based on individual candidate qualifications and location.
