Overview
Overview Job Summary Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Operate, maintain, repair, inspect, test, and exercise electrical generation equipment to provide continuous regulated power to Cavalier SFS.
- Accomplishes required preventive maintenance on all equipment in the power plant.
- Performs periodic maintenance and corrects malfunctions on all power plant equipment.
- Maintains the alarm and shutdown systems.
- Maintains engine logs and equipment records; assists with station housekeeping and other duties, as directed.
- Performs routine inspection, maintenance, and repair on all electrical power generating and distribution equipment.
- Performs all major inspections and repair maintenance on the alternators, excitation systems, generator and distribution switchgear, high and low voltage power circuit breakers, control, and alarm circuits.
- Performs all testing, calibration, and adjusting of the generator and switchgear protective relays in accordance with the established preventive maintenance schedules and concurrent with preventive maintenance inspections performed on the generator diesel engines.
- Performs preventive electrical maintenance inspections, tests, and repair on the diesel engine generator ancillary systems, which include items such as pump motors, control, and alarm circuits. Coordinates CE resources to assist with required tasks or expertise.
- Maintains and controls RPIE assets.
- Operate, maintain, repair, inspect, test and exercise RP, RPIE and EAID generators and Automatic Transfer Switch (ATS).
- Program depot-level maintenance (20,000 and 40,000 hours) of PP generators three years in advance.
- Develop and coordinate generator refueling plan. Review plan annually.
- Maintain voltage within 4160 VAC + 2% and maintain frequency at 60-hertz + 1/2 hertz.
- Maintains OSHA/AFOSH, safety and good housekeeping standards.
- Accomplishes training as directed.
- Performs other duties not limited to general housekeeping, safety and environmental practices, requisitions parts, monitors bench stock, supply point, maintains data/logs/files, complies with security policies, PWS directive publications, completes ancillary training and participates in exercises.
Educational/Training Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Trade School in power production or similar Military Training.
Experience:
- Minimum of three years' experience in Electrical Power Production.
Certifications/Licensing:
- Successful completion of EEI POSS/MASS Test
Clearance Requirements:
- Currently hold or be able to obtain and maintain the proper US DoD issued security clearance, which requires US Citizenship. Security clearance eligibility may be discussed during the interview phase.
- Employment and start date are contingent upon the candidate receiving the required US DoD issued interim security clearance

Pay Range
Starting from USD $48.92/Hr.
