Title: Cooler Loader Salary Range: $25.50 per Hour Status: Non-Exempt Location: Marina, CA \| Yuma, AZ Reports to: Cooler Manager GENERAL DESCRIPTION / PRIMARY PURPOSE: Responsible for loading and unloading products from trucks, containers, or railcars trucks. Complete paperwork accurately in a timely manner. MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND TASKS / DUTIES OF THE POSITION: Check trailer and reefer temperature prior to loading (34-38 degrees). Inspection of trailer for any pre-existing damage. Inspection of product (random temperature checks) to ensure there is no damage to the product. Verify case count and & product temperature as it is being loaded and/or staged on the dock. Other duties as assigned. JOB SPECIFIC COMPETENCIES: English skills required, bilingual preferred. Mathematical skills and logical thought process required. Prioritize orders by appointments. Must be able to maintain regular and acceptable attendance. Follow directions, interact well with co-workers, Understand and follow posted work rules/ procedures. Must be flexible with the ability to work any shift as workload demands. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, bend, stoop, kneel and sit. Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds, and 20 lbs overhead as job demands. Will have some exposure to fumes and airborne particles. Time will be spent in a refrigerated (cold) and loud (ear protection required) work environment. WORK HOUR & TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS: Ability to travel to other facilities and offices. Ability to work long days including overtime, weekends, and holidays. Must be able to relocate.
