Summary:
The Substance Use Disorder Counselor I, working under their certification, provides treatment services to patients in the continuum of behavioral health services across they system and will have the opportunity to develop their skills and abilities while receiving mentorship and supervision from an experienced counselor. The incumbent will conduct comprehensive bio-psychosocial assessments, provide therapeutic interventions, and deliver direct patient care, ensure clinical records are accurate, collaborate with community treatment providers and internal team members, and participate in team meetings.

Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs)

  1. Education: High School Diploma
  2. License/Certifications: CADC or LADC from the respective licensing Board of the State of Maine Office of Professional and Occupational Regulation (OPOR)
  3. Experience: Behavioral health experience working with or treating patients with substance use disorders, including internship prior to becoming a CADC or LADC.
