Customer Service Representative (Contract-to-Hire) * Madison, WI * $23.21/hour * 4-6 Month Contract-to-Hire About the Opportunity We are seeking a detail-oriented Customer Service Representative to join a growing team within the industrial manufacturing industry. This role offers a unique opportunity to develop technical product knowledge while supporting customers, sales representatives, and internal teams. This is not a traditional high-volume call center position. Representatives handle custom orders, provide order support, troubleshoot customer issues, and collaborate with departments such as Engineering and Warehouse Operations to deliver solutions. New hires will start in an Order Processing Representative capacity, focusing on order entry and system training before advancing into more customer-facing responsibilities. Key Responsibilities * Process and enter customer orders accurately * Support customers and sales representatives with order-related inquiries * Generate quotes and provide order status updates * Expedite orders and resolve service-related issues * Troubleshoot customer concerns and coordinate solutions with internal teams * Communicate effectively with Engineering, Warehouse, and other departments * Maintain accurate records and documentation * Utilize Outlook, Excel, and SAP to manage daily tasks * Deliver exceptional customer service with a strong attention to detail Required Qualifications * Minimum 1 year of customer service and/or order entry experience * Strong computer proficiency * Ability to learn technical products and processes * Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills * Positive attitude and strong communication skills * Typing speed of 45+ WPM * High School Diploma or equivalent Preferred Qualifications * Bachelor's degree * Experience with SAP * 2-4 years of technical customer service experience * Manufacturing or industrial industry experience * Mechanical or technical interests/hobbies (automotive, farming, machinery, repairs, etc.) * Bilingual in English and Spanish Training & Career Development This company invests heavily in employee development through a structured 12-week training program designed to build both product knowledge and long-term career growth. Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $23.21 - $23.21/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
