Position Overview We are seeking a *Health Care Customer Service Representative* to support patients, providers, brokers, and healthcare teams by coordinating communications, assisting with benefits and enrollment processes, and ensuring seamless transitions of care. This individual will serve as a key liaison between patients and healthcare resources while delivering exceptional customer service in a fast-paced healthcare environment.
Key Responsibilities Patient & Provider Support * Serve as a liaison between patients, providers, and healthcare teams. * Educate patients regarding Emergency Room (ER) visits, inpatient hospital resources, and Early Bird Alert portal programs. * Manage inbound and outbound communication with patients, providers, and healthcare partners. * Assist with care coordination efforts to ensure smooth transitions between healthcare settings. Benefits & Enrollment Assistance * Provide support with member enrollment and benefits-related inquiries. * Collaborate with brokers, benefits specialists, and healthcare stakeholders. * Assist patients and members with understanding healthcare coverage and available resources. * Perform insurance verification and benefit verification activities. Administrative & Customer Service Support * Handle high-volume inbound and outbound calls in a call center environment. * Document patient interactions accurately and maintain detailed records. * Enter and update data within healthcare systems and Excel spreadsheets. * Support prior authorization processes and other healthcare administrative functions. * Ensure timely follow-up and resolution of patient and provider inquiries. Required Qualifications * Minimum of 2 years of experience in a managed care, healthcare, or health insurance environment. * Strong customer service experience, preferably in a healthcare or call center setting. * Experience with: * Care coordination * Insurance verification * Benefit verification * Prior authorizations * Data entry and record management * Proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel. * Familiarity with medical terminology. * Strong communication, organizational, and multitasking skills. Preferred Qualifications * Medical Assistant certification or similar advanced healthcare certification. * Nursing school coursework or healthcare clinical background. * Experience supporting healthcare enrollment, patient advocacy, or care management programs. * Project coordination or administrative healthcare support experience.
