*Cable Technician - Level 1 & Level 2* *Overview* We are seeking motivated *Cable Technicians (Level 1 & Level 2)* to join our growing team supporting commercial, industrial, and data center environments. Ideal candidates have handson experience with *structured cabling*, *lowvoltage installation*, and *fiber/copper termination*, along with a strong commitment to safety, quality, and teamwork.
*Responsibilities* *Level 1 Technician* * Install, route, and secure Cat5e/Cat6/Cat6A cabling through Jhooks, cable trays, and conduit. * Perform basic copper terminations (RJ45, patch panels) and assist with fiber routing. * Support experienced technicians with rack building, labeling, and cable dressing. * Read and follow basic construction drawings and cable layouts. * Maintain clean, safe work areas and adhere to company safety standards. * Use cable testers to verify continuity and performance. * Assist with installation of devices such as WAPs, cameras, and access control hardware. *Level 2 Technician* * Perform advanced copper and fiber terminations (LC, SC, MPO) with minimal supervision. * Conduct fiber testing using power meters and light sources; assist with OTDR testing. * Build and dress IDF/NDF racks, manage cable pathways, and ensure highquality presentation. * Interpret detailed prints, riser diagrams, and asbuilt documentation. * Lead small crews and mentor Level 1 technicians. * Troubleshoot cabling issues and perform corrective actions efficiently. * Coordinate with project managers, GC teams, and other trades onsite. *Qualifications* *Level 1* * 0-1 year of experience in *lowvoltage cabling* or related field preferred. * Ability to use basic hand tools and follow installation standards. * Comfortable working on ladders, lifts, and in active construction environments. * Strong work ethic, reliability, and willingness to learn. * OSHA10 preferred. *Level 2* * 2+ years of experience in structured cabling or telecom installation. * Proficiency in copper and fiber termination methods. * Experience with rack builds, cable management, and labeling standards. * Ability to read and interpret detailed cabling prints. * Familiarity with Fluke testing, fiber inspection, and insertion loss measurements. * OSHA10 or OSHA30 preferred; BICSI certification a plus. *Job Type & Location*This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Montgomery, AL. *Pay and Benefits*The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $34.00/hr.
