Advertised Salary: Minimum of $1,353 per credit hour. If an advanced degree is held in the primary academic discipline, the minimum rate increases to $1,458. Salary commensurate with qualifications pursuant to the FSU and FNTFO/AFT Agreement

Summary of Position: Primary responsibilities include: providing classroom and lab instruction in the medical laboratory science program; maintaining regularly posted office hours at times convenient for students; participating in program meetings; and developing and maintaining skills in a variety of teaching/learning methodologies, including online course instruction.
This is a pooled position. One or more applicants may be hired as needed to teach classes on a semester-by-semester basis.
Courses are to be taught in person on one of Ferris State University's Campuses. The candidate(s) selected for the position must reside in Michigan by the first day of employment and will perform duties at a Ferris site.
The anticipated start date of this position is August 2026 at the earliest and January 2027 at the latest.
Position Type: Faculty - Temporary & Continuing
Required Education: Bachelor's in Medical Laboratory Science or related field.
Required Work Experience: Minimum of 2 years of experience working in a clinical lab.
Required Licenses and Certifications: Certification as MLS (ASCP) or NCA (CLS).

Additional Education/Experiences to be Considered: Previous experience teaching immunohematology in an accredited MLS program.
Master's degree in MLS or related field.
Essential Duties/Responsibilities: Teach courses as assigned by the department chair.

Collaborate with other faculty to review/revise curriculum.

Participate in assessment of student learning.

Develop/revise instructional materials.

Maintain scheduled classes and office hours.

Adhere to policies of the college and university.

Support, promote, and develop university student enrollment and retention.

Work collaboratively with faculty to promote and improve programs.

Faculty members also have professional responsibilities, which may include, but are not limited to, regularly scheduled office hours (at times convenient for students) and participation in traditional academic functions (e.g., reporting initial student participation data and submitting final grades on time). Faculty may be required to teach off-campus or online.

Faculty may be required to teach off-campus or in an online environment.

Carries out responsibilities in accordance with university policies and applicable laws.

Cultivates an environment of belonging that values, respects, supports, and celebrates individual similarities and differences, allowing students, faculty, and staff to thrive authentically.

Support, promote, and develop university student enrollment and retention initiatives.

Any other duties assigned within the position classification area.
