The Division of Development and Alumni Relations at the University of Georgia advances the goals, objectives, and priorities of the university by generating private financial support, building, and maintaining relationships with alumni and donors, and assisting students with career development opportunities.
Career Center
The University of Georgia Career Center is the provider of centralized career services to undergraduate, graduate students, and alumni at The University of Georgia. Career Center staff work collaboratively with faculty and staff of all departments to enhance the career success of University of Georgia students/alumni. Several of the "nuts & bolts" services the UGA Career Center provides to its students include career counseling, job search training, and opportunities to connect with employers.
The Career Center also serves as a corporate gateway to the University by helping employers meet key faculty/staff, understand culture and curriculum, and successfully recruit UGA students and alumni. A broad group of corporate, government, and nonprofit employers recruit at The University of Georgia, and the Career Center facilitates this process through career fairs, on-campus interviews, and a variety of recruiting and educational programs and events.

Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent and 2 years of professional experience
Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in data analytics, statistics, information systems, computer science, business analytics, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Proficiency with modern analytics, data integration, and visualization platforms (e.g., Power BI, Microsoft Fabric, SQL Server suite, or comparable tools), including experience developing dashboards, operational reports, and ad hoc analyses that support leadership decision-making.
  • Strong understanding of data visualization best practices and the ability to communicate complex information through clear, effective storytelling for executive and public audiences.
  • Working knowledge of advanced analytics techniques, such as predictive modeling, and exposure to applied AI in business or educational contexts.
  • Experience integrating and managing data from multiple sources, including survey platforms (e.g., Qualtrics, QuestionPro), CRM or career management systems (e.g., Handshake), and external datasets, as well as supporting cloud-based analytics, automation, and real-time reporting solutions.
  • Strong understanding of data governance, privacy (e.g., FERPA), and digital accessibility standards (e.g., WCAG/ADA) within higher education environments.
  • Working familiarity with web development concepts, including CMS platforms, responsive design principles, version control (e.g., Git), and API integrations.

Position Summary
This position is responsible for supporting and advancing the University of Georgia Career Center's career outcomes initiative through data analytics, reporting, technology systems management, and digital solutions. Reporting to the Associate Director of Data Science & Technology, the position provides leadership in the collection, validation, analysis, visualization, and reporting of career outcomes and student engagement data. The role also supports the Career Center's technology infrastructure through the development and maintenance of web-based tools, data visualization resources, and technology systems that improve operational efficiency and decision-making.
The position collaborates extensively with campus and external stakeholders, including the Office of Institutional Research, Development & Alumni Relations Information Technology ( DAR IT), Enterprise Information Technology Services ( EITS), academic units, and national organizations such as NACE and the Data Analytics in Career Services ( DACS) consortium. The individual in this role must possess strong analytical and technical capabilities, excellent project management and communication skills, and the ability to translate complex data into actionable insights and user-friendly reporting tools.

  • Knowledge of data collection methodologies, data management practices, and reporting standards
  • Knowledge of data analysis techniques, statistical concepts, and data visualization tools
  • Ability to manage and supervise staff, including training and coordinating student workers
  • Ability to analyze complex datasets and translate findings into clear, actionable reports and presentations
  • Knowledge of Web Accessibility (as specified by Sec 508 of the U.S. Rehabilitation Act of 1973, and the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines developed by the World Wide Web Consortium)

Career Outcomes Initiative

  • Assist with planning, implementation, and continuous improvement of the Career Outcomes Initiative.
  • Collect, combine, normalize, validate, and analyze career outcomes and student engagement data from multiple internal and external sources.
  • Develop dashboards, reports, predictive analytics tools, and data visualizations to support strategic decision-making, operational planning, and institutional reporting.
  • Utilize and support enterprise analytics and reporting platforms including Qualtrics, QuestionPro, Handshake, Steppingblocks, Power BI, Microsoft Fabric, Microsoft SQL Server Suite (SSMS, SSAS, SSIS), and other related technology systems.
  • Support survey development, administration, automation, and optimization, including predictive analytics and data collection strategies designed to improve knowledge rates and reporting outcomes.
  • Monitor knowledge rates and data quality throughout the year and implement strategies to improve outcomes reporting and data integrity.
  • Collaborate with academic colleges, campus partners, and external organizations to expand participation and improve data collection efforts.
  • Provide reporting and data support for institutional initiatives, benchmarking projects, accreditation processes, and national surveys.
  • Utilize data visualization and reporting tools to communicate complex information in accessible and actionable formats for a wide range of stakeholders.

  • Develop, maintain, and enhance web-based tools, applications, and digital resources that support Career Center operations and analytics.
  • Support and maintain Career Center websites, databases, and data systems with an emphasis on usability, accessibility, and functionality.
  • Ensure compliance with university digital accessibility, security, and authentication standards.
  • Monitor and analyze website and application usage statistics to support continuous improvement.
  • Collaborate with DAR IT and EITS to support technology infrastructure, system integrations, and security protocols.

  • Support event data tracking, attendance uploads, and related reporting functions.
