Job Summary

The Distribution Associate is responsible for receiving, storing, transporting, and shipping materials, supplies, equipment, and finished products in a safe and efficient manner. This role operates powered industrial equipment, verifies incoming and outgoing shipments, maintains inventory accuracy, completes shipping documentation, and supports warehouse operations while adhering to established safety and quality standards.

Job Responsibilities



  • Receive incoming materials, supplies, equipment, and finished goods.
  • Verify shipments against packing lists, purchase orders, and shipping documentation.
  • Inspect incoming materials for damage and report discrepancies.
  • Gather, verify, package, and prepare materials for shipment according to customer and transportation requirements.
  • Record all received and shipped materials using computerized and written documentation.
  • Transport materials to designated stock, storage, or inspection areas.
  • Operate powered industrial equipment, including stand-up forklifts, pallet jacks, and other material handling equipment.
  • Safely operate a stand-up powered industrial truck (PIT) equipped with forks.
  • Maintain accurate inventory records and shipping documentation.
  • Follow warehouse safety procedures and maintain a clean and organized work area.
  • Collaborate with team members to ensure timely and accurate material movement.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.


Job Requirements



  • Minimum of 1 year of experience in shipping, receiving, warehouse, distribution, or material handling required.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Experience operating stand-up powered industrial trucks (PIT) or forklifts preferred.
  • Forklift certification preferred.
  • Valid driver's license with a satisfactory driving record may be required.
  • Knowledge of standard shipping and receiving procedures.
  • Ability to operate powered warehouse equipment, including forklifts and hydraulic pallet jacks.
  • Basic reading, writing, and mathematical skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Effective verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to lift and move up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to work safely in a warehouse environment while standing, walking, lifting, and operating material handling equipment throughout the shift.


Education



  • High school diploma or equivalent required.


Work Experience



  • Minimum of 1 year of experience in shipping, receiving, warehouse, distribution, or material handling required.
  • Experience operating stand-up powered industrial trucks (PIT) or forklifts preferred.
