Position Summary

Odyssey Systems is seeking a Systems Cybersecurity Specialist to provide ISSO-level support to the Air Force Life Cycle Management Center (AFLCMC) at Hanscom Air Force Base. This position is responsible for ensuring compliance with DoD and Air Force cybersecurity policies and procedures throughout the system lifecycle. The successful candidate will manage Risk Management Framework (RMF) activities, maintain security documentation, and support the implementation of PKI and continuous monitoring efforts in a classified environment.



Responsibilities

In this Advisory and Assistance Services (A&AS) role, you will provide expert-level support to Department of Defense (DoD) programs by assisting government leadership with decision-making, planning, and execution throughout the acquisition lifecycle. You will apply your technical and/or professional expertise to ensure compliance with applicable policies and regulations, contribute to mission success, and help deliver critical capabilities to the warfighter.

Duties include, but not limited to:

    Serve as the ISSO for assigned systems, working closely with Program Managers, System Owners, and Security Control Assessors (SCAs).

  • Ensure systems comply with DoDI 8500.01 (Cybersecurity), DoDI 8510.01 (RMF), DoDI 8520.02 (PKI), AFI 17-130 (formerly AFI 33-200), and AFI 17-101 (formerly AFI 33-210).

  • Develop, update, and maintain RMF documentation, including System Security Plans (SSPs), Risk Assessments, POA&Ms, and Security Assessment Reports (SARs).

  • Manage Assessment & Authorization (A&A) packages in the Enterprise Mission Assurance Support Service (eMASS) system.

  • Monitor cybersecurity controls and support continuous monitoring activities across system lifecycle phases.

  • Track and verify all personnel meet DoD 8570.01-M certification requirements.

  • Review software and hardware changes for cybersecurity impact and update relevant documentation.

  • Support implementation and sustainment of PKI-enabling capabilities (e.g., encryption, multi-factor authentication, digital signatures).

  • Participate in configuration management boards and provide cybersecurity input to system changes.

  • Assist with audit readiness, inspections, and responses to cybersecurity incidents or findings.



Qualifications

Citizenship: Must be a US citizen

Minimum Required Qualifications

Clearance: Must have and be able to maintain a Secret clearance

Education: Bachelor's degree

Years of Experience: 10+ years of experience, five of which must be in the DoD

Certifications:

Preferred Qualifications

Clearance: TS

Education: Master's degree

Technical Skills

  • Working knowledge of DoDI 8500.01, DoDI 8510.01, DoDI 8520.02

  • Hands-on experience implementing RMF in DoD environments

  • Expertise in PKI/PK enabling capabilities and compliance

  • Familiarity with cybersecurity-related CDRLs and documentation standards

Interpersonal Skills

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Ability to interpret and apply complex DoD policies and regulations

  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail

  • Ability to collaborate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders
