The Land Analysis Professional, working under general supervision, is responsible for handling moderately complex matters in land and land administration. The role reviews and analyzes oil and gas leases, exploration and production contracts, and related title and ownership documents to ensure proper maintenance of these assets, enters data into the company's lease and contract systems to maintain land records and contractual obligations, and maintains related digital files. The role supports landmen in complex matters including the preparation of oil and gas contracts, processing of oil and gas leases, and correspondence. The role is responsible for the processing, routing, and monitoring of AFEs and associated ballots, and communicating associated interest calculations and changes. The specific scope of responsibility will be determined based on the selected candidate's experience.

  • Reviews and analyzes new leases and contracts for input in the computer system and prepares and maintains lease and contract files, including updating with any new information or corrections.

  • Reviews and ensures records affected by well completions or well status changes are updated, analyzes correspondence, title change documents, and title opinions, and coordinates with land and division order departments on any interest changes in leases and wells.

  • Reviews monthly lease obligations and expirations and facilitates record management of original leases, contracts, documents, maps, receipts, and related correspondence.

  • Works under general to limited supervision (commensurate with level), and initiates change, driving improvements within the discipline.

  • Prepares releases of lease and other agreements and contracts and actively contributes to the development of innovative tools to improve data quality and create efficiencies.

  • Cultivates effective relationships, shares knowledge, and provides influence over land projects and peer groups, demonstrating understanding of industry best practices.

  • Prepares form transmittals, check requests, oil and gas leases, assignments, right of ways and other associated contracts and monitors proposals, AFE spending, lease acreage and related bonus, brokerage and other costs.

  • Researches and corresponds to inquiries regarding broker billings and invoicing, responds to partner inquiries and royalty/surface owner matters, and prepares and distributes proposal letters on well operations.

  • Assists Landmen in preparing contracts and regulatory orders, supports in paying off drafts for new lease purchases, and helps in reviewing invoices and coding to appropriate AFE.

  • Evaluates and recommends land administration solutions independently, assesses land analysis-specific risks, and demonstrates the ability to prioritize and complete assignments, contributing to collaborative, goal-oriented team efforts.

Education:
* Bachelor's Degree in Energy Management, Business Administration or any other related discipline and/or commensurate work experience is required.

Experience:
* 3+ years of relevant experience, preferably in areas such as Leasing, Land, Land Administration, including Lease Records or Division Orders, Land Management, Title and Ownership Verification, or a related field. Industry experience is preferred. Preferably a member of Member National Association of Land & Title Analysts (NALTA).
