Type of Opportunity: Full time FTE: 1.00 Job Exempt: No Work Shift: Days (United States of America)

Responsibilities:

  • Expedites delivery of dental treatment by assisting the dentist during clinical procedures, anticipating provider needs, and ensuring instruments and materials are readily available.

  • Prepares treatment rooms, instruments, supplies, and equipment for patient care and dental procedures.

  • Cleans, sterilizes, and maintains dental instruments and equipment in accordance with infection prevention and safety standards.

  • Seats and prepares patients for treatment, reviews medical histories, and helps ensure patient comfort throughout appointments.

  • Takes and processes dental radiographs in compliance with applicable regulations and safety protocols.

  • Provides chairside assistance during examinations, restorative procedures, oral surgery, and other dental treatments.

  • Maintains accurate and timely patient records, documenting treatments, procedures, and provider instructions.

  • Educates patients on oral hygiene practices, post-treatment care, and preventive dental measures as directed by the dentist.

  • Monitors inventory levels and assists with ordering, stocking, and organizing clinical supplies and materials.

  • Ensures operatories are cleaned, disinfected, and fully prepared between patient appointments.

  • Assists with dental impressions, model preparation, and fabrication of temporary restorations as permitted by training and regulations.

  • Maintains compliance with OSHA, HIPAA, infection control, and organizational policies and procedures.

  • Supports efficient clinic operations by coordinating patient flow and communicating effectively with providers, staff, and patients.

  • Performs other related duties as assigned to support patient care and departmental operations.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.

  • Completion of a dental assisting program or specialized short-term training in dental assisting preferred.

  • Six months to one year of experience in a dental office or clinical setting required.

  • Demonstrated knowledge of dental procedures, instruments, infection control practices, and patient care techniques preferred.
