Short Description Clinical: Provide psychological consultation and psychotherapeutic intervention for individual outpatient health psychology population. Working with medical patients to focus on brief short-term interventions for those struggling with psychological distress related to medical issues. Work in cooperation with and provide consultation to a multidisciplinary team, provide both brief bedside and traditional OP psychotherapy interventions rooted in evidence-based interventions, including, but not limited to, Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and mindfulness-based interventions. Lead and/or co-facilitate psychoeducational groups for patients on topics such as insomnia, fear of recurrence and metastatic cancer. Assessment: Provide psychological testing as appropriate to assess mood, behavior, and cognitive functioning including CDQ, MMSE, MoCA, RBANS, HADS, etc. to assist in assessment to inform treatment. Secondary Supervision for externship/internship training program: Provide secondary supervision for interns on health psychology rotations of Behavioral Medicine Training Programs. Administration: Maintain timely, comprehensive, clinical notes in EMR; provide psychological reports for assessment cases, obtain NJ permit; report to Director of Behavioral Medicine for administrative and clinical issues including scheduling, case assignment, coverage, etc. Teaching: Lecture for CMSRU courses as needed; participate in supervision for medical students at CUH as needed for varying coursework at CMSRU, additionally provide professional presentations as requested (staff in-service, Grand Rounds, GME and medical school). Participation in weekly group supervision and didactic training of Behavioral Medicine trainees. Research: Participation in on-going Behavioral Medicine research; initiation of new projects, participation in professional presentation at national conferences; work toward publication of Behavioral Medicine research. Experience Required Internship completed in clinical psychology, experience in health psychology/behavioral medicine including related interventions and assessment, research in health psychology-related topics. Other Qualifications: Strong program development skills, excellent oral and written communication skills, ability to work independently and exercise sound clinical judgment, ability to work in cooperation with multidisciplinary medical team, strong organizational and management skills, ability to provide consultation as well as liaison services across medical teams Education Requirements Psy.D./Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology or degree to be conferred within 30 days of hire date; Specialization in Health Psychology preferred License/Certification Requirements Current NJ Psychology Permit to accrue clinical hours is recommended Special Requirements Schedule - Days/Hours: Full time; 40 hours Hourly Rate Min $1
