The Benefits Analyst supports the design, administration, analysis, and ongoing optimization of employee benefit programs. This role partners closely with HR, Finance, vendors, and brokers to ensure benefits are administered accurately, compliant, and aligned with employee experience in mind.

Minimum Education
Bachelor's Degree Human Resources, Business, Finance, or related field. (Required)

Master's Degree Related field. (Preferred)

Minimum Work Experience
2+ years of related HR/Data/Finance experience (minimum of 1 year direct Compensation experience) (Required)

Required Skills/Knowledge

  • Strong knowledge of employee benefits programs and applicable regulations
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; ability to interpret complex data
  • Proficiency with HRIS and benefits administration systems
  • Strong Excel skills; experience with reporting and data visualization tools preferred
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain complex benefits topics to diverse employee groups
  • High attention to detail and accuracy, with the ability to interpret data and identify trends
  • Experience supporting union and non-union employee populations preferred
  • Certified Employee Benefit Specialist (CEBS) or similar certification preferred

Functional Accountabilities

  • Provide day-to-day administration of employee benefit programs, including medical, dental, vision, life, retirement, tuition reimbursement, invoicing, and leave programs
  • Analyze benefits usage, costs, trends, and plan performance; recommend enhancements or cost-saving strategies.
  • Support annual open enrollment, including planning, vendor coordination, employee communications, and system configuration
  • Participate and may lead compliance activities related to benefits program and federal, state, and local regulations (e.g., ERISA, ACA, COBRA, HIPAA, FMLA)
  • Respond to employee benefit inquiries and resolve issues related to eligibility, coverage, claims, enrollment, etc. Partner with insurance carriers, third-party administrators, brokers, and internal stakeholders to resolve issues and manage escalations.
  • Prepare and review benefits-related reporting, filings, and disclosures
  • Assist with benefits communications tailored to clinical staff, 24/7 operations, and multiple employee populations
  • Participate in benefits benchmarking and market analysis to maintain competitive offerings
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with Payroll, Finance, Legal, and HRIS teams

The disclosed salary range includes the minimum and maximum rates within which Children's National believes an individual's base pay rate will fall for this position. It is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the maximum of the pay range. The exact pay rate for this position will be based on a variety of factors in alignment with the Children's National compensation philosophy. These factors are legitimate and non-discriminatory including, but not limited to, the current market conditions; organizational needs; the individual's combination of prior work experience, level of education, knowledge, skills, and other qualifications. Children's National is committed to providing a fair and competitive total rewards package to each of our employees. This base salary range does not include our comprehensive benefits package or any additional compensation for which this position may be eligible.
