The Clinical Research Coordinator (CRC) will join the Mental Health and Palliative Care Research Program within the Massachusetts General Hospital Cystic Fibrosis (CF) Clinical Research Center, supporting a portfolio of innovative, multi-site studies focused on improving mental health, quality of life, and clinical outcomes for individuals with CF and their families. Working closely with Drs. Anna Georgiopoulos and Deborah Friedman, the program manager, and multidisciplinary collaborators across CF care and psychiatry, the CRC will coordinate a wide range of research activities, including IRB submissions, participant recruitment, data collection and management, analysis support, site communications, grant and manuscript preparation, and conference presentation development. Current studies span cognitive behavioral therapy implementation, mental health screening and intervention development, parent and caregiver support, chronic pain management, transplantation-related mental health care, and the evaluation of psychiatric outcomes associated with CF treatments. The role also supports day-to-day research operations, ensures compliance with hospital and clinic protocols, and contributes to the overall quality of the CF Clinical Research Program, with opportunities to participate in additional CF clinical research, including interventional drug trials. This position offers extensive exposure to all phases of the research process, opportunities for scientific authorship, and is particularly well suited for candidates interested in pursuing advanced training in clinical psychology, medicine, or related health sciences.
Summary Following established policies, procedures, and study protocols, provides assistance on clinical research studies, including recruiting, evaluating, and consenting patients for studies; collecting and organizing patient data; scheduling patients for study visits; performing clinical tests such as phlebotomy, EKGs, etc.; and maintaining and updating data generated by the study. Candidates who are in the process of completing their bachelor's degree have a six-month grace period from their hire date (up to one year if starting on a per diem basis) to provide degree equivalency verification. No Essential Functions -Reviews proposals for compliance with sponsor and organizational guidelines; verifies that all sponsor requirements are met. -Recruiting patients for clinical trials and conducting phone interviews. -Verifies the accuracy of study forms and updates them per protocol. -Prepares data for analysis and data entry. -Documents patient visits and procedures. -Assists with regulatory binders and QA/QC Procedures. -Assists with interviewing study subjects. -Assists with study regulator submissions.
