Position Summary
The Department of Psychiatry is seeking a full-time (100% FTE) Research Associate II - Social Sciences. This position conducts research by assisting with the collection, entry, and cleaning of data and descriptive results for the Colbeth Child Psychiatric Clinic. The successful candidate will be exceptionally detail oriented, possess strong oral and written communication skills, the ability to juggle multiple tasks and strong interpersonal skills.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Perform surveys, interviews, observations or uses other methods according to established research protocols.
  • Collect, process and analyze data. Summarize research and test results.
  • May assist with study protocol development.
  • Coordinate the ordering, inventory and maintenance of equipment, instruments and data collection and analysis tools.
  • Prepare and contributes statistical data and pertinent information for papers, grants and other documents.
  • Complete required documentation for regulatory agencies.
  • Obtain, enter, clean, and analyze medical and psychiatric subject data from medical records submitted by the field healthcare providers, case workers, Department of Children and Family Services authorized agents, foster parents, etc. relating to the use of psychotropic medication.
  • Maintain exemplary oral and written communication skills utilized in acquiring and reporting data.
  • Autonomously use professional judgment and discretion needed when gathering complex information on each subject.
  • Follow protocol to communicate updates to healthcare providers on changes in procedure related to research findings.
  • Contribute to research which helps to provide improved future clinical care, oversight, and influence policy.
  • As new research findings become available, develop and implement procedures and policies to positively impact the future of clinical care.
  • When concerning trends are identified, notify research supervisors and/or the Principal Investigator in order to develop and implement proper guidelines to promote quality assurance.
  • Assess quality assurance to ensure best practice standards and recommendations of research findings are being upheld.
  • Perform literature reviews, attend educational forums, and collaborate with Research team including Registered Nurses and Child and Adolescent Psychiatrists regarding research findings.
  • Perform other related duties and participate in special projects as assigned.


  • Minimum Qualifications

    • Bachelor's degree in social science or related field required.
    • A minimum of one year related research experience.
    • Knowledge of research concepts, practices and procedures.
    Preferred Qualifications
    • Bachelor's degree in psychology or nursing.
    • Experience in psychopharmacology.


    Benefits and Compensation:

    The previously determined salary range for this position is $50,000.00-$54,361.00.
