Job Description Job Title: Instructional Designer Reports To: Training Manager The Lead Instructional Designer supports the training department's mission to provide all IES employees with quality training content and resources. Under the direction of the Training Manager, the IES Lead Instructional Designer will assist in managing the LMS, coordinate the Instructional Design team, and work with management on content development and delivery.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

Organizes the day-to-day activities of the Instructional Designers. Works with the Training Manager for project scheduling and organization purposes Develops and designs courses and curriculum Edits and develops online learning materials. Creates learning experiences and environments. Designs learning activities, assignments, and assessments. Creates computer-based training (CBT) modules and storyboards. Develops instructor's manuals, rubrics, and other teaching tools. Collaborates with subject experts to develop course content. Assist in maintaining the Learning Management System Analyzes, updates, and refines existing online content. Leads discussion and collaboration via social media. Keeps current on best practices in instructional design. Works with technical staff to troubleshoot problems reported by users. Track project progress according to IES requirements Other duties as assigned Min USD $82,000.00/Yr. Max USD $87,000.00/Yr. Qualifications Qualifications/Skills Set Required: Knowledge of instructional and adult learning theories, including assessment Proficiency with learning management systems (LMS) Understanding of instructional design best practices Excellent project management and organizational skills Experience with design platforms, such as Adobe Creative Cloud, Captivate, and Articulate Excellent written and oral communication skills, including the ability to effectively convey technical information to non-technical colleagues and clients Critical thinking skills Ability to prioritize and manage multiple simultaneous deadlines Education, Certification, and License Requirements: BS, or technical degree in instructional design, education, or related field 3 years of previous experience in instructional design Minimum Years of Experience 2-4 License Required No Minimum Education High School Overview IES is a national provider of industrial products and infrastructure services to a variety of end markets, including electrical, mechanical and communications contracting solutions for the commercial, industrial, residential and renewable energy markets.
