Job Summary The Vice President, Chief Compliance Lead (CCL), Americas ensures ethical conduct and plays a critical role in identifying and mitigating risk by developing and leading an innovative compliance program that supports ZOLL's mission. The Vice President, CCL, Americas is responsible for designing, managing, and overseeing the compliance governance and strategic framework across the region, in close collaboration with the EMEA and APAC Compliance teams and senior leaders across all divisions, to support sustainable growth. This role is instrumental in further strengthening a culture of integrity and advancing an industry-leading compliance program by proactively managing compliance risks and opportunities, driving continuous improvement in compliance and business sustainability processes, and supporting the organization through a practical, forward-looking, business-oriented approach. These efforts will be enabled through the leadership of a team of compliance professionals who partner closely with business leaders to promote compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and industry standards through trusted advising, coaching, collaboration, and effective administration of the compliance program. The position reports to the General Counsel of ZOLL Medical Corporation, serves as a member of the Global Legal Leadership Team, and provides regular updates to the CEO and Board of Directors on compliance matters. This role will work closely with Legal, Human Resources, and divisional stakeholders, while leading a cross-functional compliance committee composed of senior leaders across the Company to establish and advance the organization's compliance strategy and governance framework. This collaborative approach will foster timely, comprehensive insight into business activities and support the proactive development of practical, compliant, and sustainable solutions. Essential Functions
- The Vice President, CCL, Americas must be able to champion ethical behavior while navigating ambiguity and providing pragmatic advice.
- Serve as the subject matter expert on all compliance matters within the Americas, driving and actively contributing a compliance perspective to local initiatives, while overseeing the development, review, implementation, and ongoing enhancement of compliance programs, policies, procedures, business practices, and guidelines that comply with applicable state and federal laws and regulatory requirements.
- Drive a culture of compliance through an appropriate tone at the top established by senior company leadership.
- Partner closely with senior leaders and cross-functional stakeholders to establish controls that proactively identify and manage risk.
- With a focus on operational excellence, develop and oversee tailored compliance operations that support ZOLL's compliance philosophy and strategy within the Americas, including:
- Needs assessments
- Risk assessments
- Policy and process development at both corporate and divisional levels
- Training and education
- Compliance committee governance and administration
- Auditing and monitoring
- Investigations
- Regularly assess ethics and compliance issues, trends, and regulatory developments to identify vulnerabilities, inform risk-management strategies, and update practices as needed.
- Develop and oversee policies, training, compliance advisory services, and compliance review processes related to grants, sponsorships, donations, advisory boards, speaker programs, and federal and state transparency requirements.
- Serve as a strategic partner to business leadership by proactively identifying and analyzing the root causes of non-compliance, as well as challenges to achieving compliance, and recommending practical remediation measures and sustainable solutions.
- Provide strategic and tactical guidance to divisional leadership on key business decisions.
- Drive understanding and execution of the organization's overall compliance strategy and initiatives.
- Work in close partnership with peers in EMEA and APAC, as well as other members of the Legal and Compliance organization, to ensure a consistent and effective compliance program across the broader ZOLL enterprise and to promote aligned approaches, where appropriate.
- Foster a safe and open work environment in which employees feel comfortable speaking up and raising concerns.
Required Education and Experience
- Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited United States law school.
- Minimum of 10 years of relevant, direct U.S. compliance experience within the life sciences industry, preferably within the medical device sector.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Deep knowledge of U.S. healthcare compliance laws, regulations, and industry best practices.
- Demonstrated experience serving as a strategic advisor within a complex organizational structure, ideally in a matrixed environment.
- Proven track record of leading and implementing comprehensive compliance programs, managing cross-functional teams, and influencing senior leadership.

This position is eligible for an annual bonus in accordance with the company's bonus plan. Factors which may affect starting salary include geography, skills, education, experience, and other qualifications of the successful candidate.
