Summary: This person will work within a group consisting of two to four people during any given shift. The position requires safe operation of an industrial machine that slits long buns into rolls. This person will ensure proper foam type is cut to specified length and width per customer requirements. The operator will be lifting, pushing, pulling, bending, twisting, gripping, therefore must have upper body strength and understand proper lifting techniques as well as be able to recognize and ask for assistance when needed May lift up to 50 pounds with assistance off and on throughout the shift. Will be standing the entire shift and will also perform clean up duties consisting of sweeping, picking up scrap foam, and making sure the area is kept neat at all times. This position requires good communication with Looper Helper, Roll Compressor Operator, and other employees in a corporative, efficient, and positive manner. Must be comfortable working in a manufacturing environment and adhere to safety policies that are site specific and within industry standards and must have a natural attention to detail. Must be physically fit to work in area specific environment and pass drug testing as required by employer.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:



  1. Will work directly with Foam Processing Supervisor to ensure production needs are met to ensure on time deliveries for customers.
  2. Will work directly with the Looper crew to coordinate and process all rolls as needed for customers.
  3. Responsible for accurate record keeping.
  4. Communicate professionally, effectively, and with courtesy with employees, managers, customers, vendors, and other departments.
  5. Make sound decisions, anticipate and adapt to changing needs and resolve problems.
  6. Meet company standards and follow company policies including safety.
  7. Perform duties fairly, efficiently, and in the best interest and long term success of the company.
  8. All materials, equipment procedures, and training associated with this position and department are deemed "Confidential and Proprietary Information." Misuse or removal from the premises without proper authorization from the Plant Manager may result in termination and liability exposure.
  9. Perform other duties as assigned.

  • Education/Experience: High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED); and 1-2 years related experience or equivalent.
  • Language Skills: Strong communication skills are required with a good command of the English language and the ability to read, write, and comprehend information, reports, instruction, and correspondence.
  • Mathematical Skill: Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals, as well as reading a tape measure.
  • Reasoning Ability: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed or oral instructions. This may include decision making, compiling information, and analyzing information along with the ability to problem solve involving some concrete variable in standardized and emergency situations.

Physical Demands:

While performing the duties of this position, the employee is frequently required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, feel; or grip objects, stretch and/or reach with hands and arms; stoop; crouch or work in cramped or awkward positions; repetitive motions. This person may regularly lift and/or move ten to fifty pounds. Occasionally may move up to 100 lbs with the assistance of a flat cart or pallet jack. Specific vision abilities required by this position include close vision, distance vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust to focus. This position requires the wearing of Personnel Protective Equipment (PPE) consisting of eye protection while on the production floor.

While performing the duties of this position, the employee is regularly exposed to average factory conditions consisting of moving mechanical parts, regularly exposed to noise levels in the work environment which are low to moderate, and exposed to temperature ranging from moderate to high depending on the time of year and location of the work being done.
