Our mission is to serve our clientsby enhancing daily life through the products and services we provide. The Unit Manager has overall responsibility for the Chlor-Alkali Unit in Geismar, Louisiana. This role is accountable for achieving production, product quality, safety, environmental, cost, reliability, and people-development objectives for the assigned unit. The Unit Manager reports directly to the Geismar Operations Manager and works closely with peer unit leadership and functional support groups to ensure safe, reliable, and cost-effective operations. PHYSICAL DEMANDS While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit, stand, walk, use hands to touch, handle, or feel, reach with hands and arms, and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to stoop, kneel, or crouch. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. This position also requires sound judgment and the ability to perform activities requiring sustained concentration. WORK ENVIRONMENT The noise level in the work environment is sometimes moderate in office settings. Some work may be required in operating units, where use of required personal protective equipment, including safety glasses and hearing protection, is mandatory.
