Summary: The Archaeologist/Project Manager will supervise LAUKOA cultural monitors and, as an archaeologist, support LAUKOA team members and LAUKOA clients as a Subject Matter Expert. Responsibilities:
- Provide supervision and logistical support for LAUKOA archaeological monitors working in California, Arizona, New Mexico, and/or Texas, ensuring that monitors meet client expectations.
- Review and revise daily monitoring reports prepared by LAUKOA archaeological monitors, adhering to LAUKOA's quality standards for project deliverables.
- Work with LAUKOA project controls personnel and use LAUKOA project management tools to ensure monitoring projects remain within budget.
- Participate in client meetings; respond to client messages and requests in a timely manner.
- Occasionally travel to California, Arizona, New Mexico, and/or Texas to provide archaeological monitoring as needed.
- As an Archaeologist, provide archaeological monitors, LAUKOA environmental personnel, and LAUKOA clients with technical direction.
- As an Archaeologist, conduct cultural resources surveys and prepare survey reports, resource/site forms, research designs, and other technical documents as needed.
- Maintain a high standard of professionalism in a remote-work setting.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree or higher in Anthropology, Archaeology, or a closely related field.
- Proven experience supervising archaeological monitors, managing field logistics, and providing technical direction to internal environmental teams and clients.
- Strong background in conducting cultural resource surveys and writing/reviewing technical documents (including daily monitoring reports, survey reports, site forms, and research designs) to meet strict quality and compliance standards.
- Exceptional communication skills with a track record of actively participating in client meetings and responding to requests promptly, alongside the ability to maintain high productivity and professionalism in a remote-work environment with occasional travel.
