Salary range:
The salary range for this position is $103,600 -$175,700. "Off-scale salaries" and other components of pay, i.e., a salary that is higher than the published system-wide salary at the designated rank and step, are offered when necessary to meet competitive conditions, qualifications, and experience. This position may include membership in the Health Sciences Compensation Plan, which provides for eligibility for additional compensation. The salary range listed is for base compensation only and may be adjusted depending on qualifications and experience. The salary range does not include variable compensation and is subject to the individual department compensation plan.

Position description

The Department of Microbiology and Molecular Genetics, in the College of Biological Sciences, University of California, Davis, invites applications for tenured Professor at the Associate or Full Professor level in Cancer Biology. Candidates whose research focuses on fundamental questions in cancer biology at the molecular, cellular, and/or organismal level investigated through laboratory and computational approaches are encouraged to apply. We are particularly interested in candidates whose research augments existing cancer-related research in the department.

Appointment will be at the tenured Associate or Full Professor, depending on experience and qualifications, in the Department of Microbiology and Molecular Genetics (College of Biological Sciences) with a joint appointment in a suitable department of the School of Medicine and membership in the Integrative Cancer Biology Program Program of the UC Davis Comprehensive Cancer Center. The successful applicant will be holder of a renewable appointment to the Albrecht Endowed Chair in Basic Science. Applicants must have earned a PhD or equivalent with significant post-doctoral experience and independent research experience in cancer biology. Participation in department, college, and university service as a member of UC Davis Division of the Academic Senate is an expectation under our faculty shared governance model.

Candidates must possess a Ph.D. or equivalent with significant post-doctoral experience, hold a tenured or equivalent position, and have a track record of productive independent research with strong current funding by the National Cancer Institute (NCI).

* A vibrant research program with strong extramural funding.

* Commitment to excellence in teaching. Must demonstrate evidence of ability to perform well at both graduate and undergraduate levels and to develop and teach undergraduate and graduate courses or seminars.
