Inova Schar Cancer is seeking a dynamic and visionary leader to serve as Senior Director, Radiation Oncology. This executive leadership role offers the opportunity to oversee one of the region's most advanced radiation oncology programs while helping shape the future of cancer care across Northern Virginia and the greater Washington, DC region. As Senior Director, you will provide strategic, operational, and financial leadership for radiation oncology services across hospital and ambulatory locations. Partnering closely with physician leaders, the Vice President of Cancer Services, and senior executives across Inova, you will drive growth, operational excellence, patient access, and an exceptional patient experience. Key Responsibilities
- Provide executive oversight of radiation oncology operations across all hospital and ambulatory locations.
- Develop and execute strategic initiatives that support growth, innovation, operational performance, and patient access.
- Partner with physician and administrative leaders to advance service line objectives and deliver high-quality, patient-centered care.
- Lead operational improvement efforts, standardization initiatives, and regulatory readiness activities across the enterprise.
- Oversee budgeting, financial performance, capital planning, and resource allocation to ensure long-term sustainability.
- Recruit, develop, and mentor a high-performing leadership team while fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and excellence.
- Drive initiatives that enhance patient satisfaction, employee engagement, quality outcomes, and clinical efficiency.
- Identify opportunities for program expansion and develop business plans that support the continued growth of Inova's cancer services.
Minimum Requirements
- 10 years relevant experience in operational or administrative experience within a radiation/oncology environment
- 4 years of management experience in oncology or ambulatory care setting
- Bachelor's degree in related field (or relevant experience in lieu of degree equivalent to 4 years)
Preferred Qualifications
Experience supporting advanced radiation treatment technologies, including proton therapy, adaptive radiation therapy, stereotactic radiosurgery (SRS), and stereotactic body radiation therapy (SBRT). - Experience managing multi-site radiation oncology operations, cancer services, or complex ambulatory healthcare programs.
Strong understanding of radiation oncology workflows, regulatory requirements, treatment delivery operations, and patient access strategies.
