Description Nurse Educator at Healdsburg Hospital in Healdsburg, CA. This position will work Full Time, 8-hour Day shifts. The Nurse Educator at Healdsburg Hospital is responsible for leading clinical education, competency validation, and regulatory readiness across acute care and subacute (SNF) services. This role oversees onboarding, annual competencies, and ongoing staff development while ensuring compliance with California Department of Public Health (CDPH) and Department of Health Care Services (DHCS) requirements and highly regulated subacute standards. The Educator also serves as the Director of Staff Development (DSD) for the subacute unit, supporting CNA training, orientation programs, outpatient clinics, and survey preparedness. The Nurse Educator/ Nursing Professional Development Practitioner is a professional nurse with advanced clinical, leadership, and staff development knowledge and skills. Supports the professional and clinical development of the bedside nurse and fosters empowerment through knowledge to achieve excellence in the delivery of evidence-based nursing care. Facilitates the educational process through assessment of learning needs; and development, planning, implementation, and evaluation of educational programs and activities, in collaboration with multidisciplinary care teams. Facilitates all levels of competency validation, from orientation through advanced. Collaborates with leadership to ensure regulatory compliance with respect to clinical practice through education and competency validation. Participates in strategic planning to achieve outcomes. Leads groups working on projects related to staff development. Acts as a consultant to committees and teams; and makes recommendations for improving the quality of patient care through the development and revision of policies, procedures, and programs. The successful candidate's placement on the wage range for this position will be determined based upon relevant job experience and other applicable factors. These amounts are the base pay range; additional compensation may be available for this role, such as shift differentials, standby/on-call, overtime, premiums, extra shift incentives, or bonus opportunities.
