About This Position:

At Lee Healths Regional Cancer Center, you will be part of a specialized rehabilitation program dedicated to helping patients regain function, independence, and quality of life throughout their cancer journey. Our multidisciplinary team collaborates closely with oncology providers and supportive care services to provide personalized, evidence-based care for individuals experiencing the physical challenges associated with cancer and its treatments.

As a Physical Therapist on our Cancer Rehabilitation team, you will have the opportunity to practice in a growing specialty area while making a meaningful impact on patients lives. Our therapists provide individualized care through one-on-one, 45-minute treatment sessions, allowing you the time and clinical focus needed to build strong patient relationships, deliver high-quality interventions, and achieve better outcomes. With a manageable caseload of no more than 10 patients per day, you can prioritize personalized care without the burden of an overwhelming productivity-driven environment.

Youll collaborate with a highly skilled team of rehabilitation professionals, including physical therapists, occupational therapists, speech/swallow therapists, lymphedema therapists, and cancer rehabilitation navigators, all working together to support patients before, during, and after cancer treatment. Our team receives specialized training in cancer rehabilitation and addresses a wide range of needs, including post-surgical recovery, deconditioning, fatigue, balance and mobility impairments, pain management, lymphedema, and survivorship goals.

As a Physical Therapist, you will be responsible for examining, evaluating and testing individuals with mechanical, physiological and developmental impairments, functional limitations, and disabilities or other health and movement-related conditions in order to determine a diagnosis, prognosis and plan of treatment intervention, and assess the ongoing effects of intervention. The PT is also responsible for alleviating impairments, functional limitations and disabilities by designing, implementing and modifying treatment interventions. Additional responsibilities include reducing the risk of injury, impairment, functional limitation and disability, as well as, the promotion and maintenance of fitness, health and wellness in populations of all ages. The PT is engaged in administration, consultation, education and research. The PT is expected to conduct themselves in an effective professional behavior manner. The attributes, characteristics or behaviors required for success in this job include: critical thinking, communication, problem solving, interpersonal skills, responsibility, professionalism, use of constructive feedback, effective use of time and resources, stress management, and commitment to learning.

Our Rehabilitation Services team is one of the largest and most dynamic in the region. With over 700 skilled professionals dedicated to helping patients regain strength, mobility, and independence through comprehensive, compassionate care. Our licensed physical, occupational, and speech therapists work closely with medical teams to create individualized treatment plans tailored to each patients unique needs. Beyond core therapy services, we offer a variety of specialty programs including neurological rehabilitation, vestibular and balance therapy, lymphedema management, pelvic health therapy, and oncology rehabilitation. With services spanning acute care, skilled nursing, home health, and outpatient settings, our team delivers exceptional, evidence-based care that restores function and enhances quality of life.

What This Position Requires:

Educational Requirements: Bachelors, Masters, or Doctor of Physical Therapy required

Experience Requirements: None

State of Florida Licensure Requirements: Physical Therapy License required

Certifications/Registration Requirements: Qualified Candidates must be lymphedema certified but we may consider other oncology certifications in lieu of lymphedema certification
