Facilities Manager

Position Summary

JLL is seeking an experienced Facilities Management professional to oversee comprehensive building operations, maintenance services, and team leadership at our client site. This role ensures optimal facility performance, safety compliance, and exceptional customer service delivery while managing both direct staff and subcontracted services.

Key Responsibilities Facilities Operations & Maintenance
  • Manage all hard and soft services delivery including direction, supervision, and oversight of subcontracted services
  • Oversee building automation and monitoring systems with focus on critical infrastructure (UPS, generators, fire alarm systems)
  • Execute preventative maintenance programs and coordinate non-scheduled repairs across all building systems
  • Ensure 24/7 equipment uptime and provide emergency repair services
  • Monitor and maintain spare parts and replacement inventories
  • Retain comprehensive maintenance and repair documentation
Required Skills & Qualifications

Technical Expertise:

  • Comprehensive knowledge of building systems including HVAC/R, electrical, plumbing, and fire safety
  • Hands-on ability to perform minor technical repairs
  • Understanding of building automation systems and critical infrastructure
  • Experience with preventative maintenance program implementation
  • Knowledge of environmental health & safety requirements
Building Systems
  • HVAC/R systems and indoor air quality management
  • Electrical substations, switchgear, and emergency power systems
  • Building utility and piping systems (natural gas, water, sewer)
  • Fire life safety systems and evacuation plans
  • Security systems and lock management
  • Energy conservation and life/safety systems
Budget & Compliance Management
  • Manage FM budget for site including project work support
  • Ensure compliance with local legislative requirements and JLL/client policies and procedures
  • Oversee environmental compliance initiatives and emergency response planning
  • Support crisis management planning
  • Manage chemical oversight programs
  • Oversee commodity resource management
Client Relations & Service Excellence
  • Serve as primary point of contact for all FM activities, identifying and removing potential roadblocks
  • Act as secondary contact for service requests, ensuring action within agreed timeframes
  • Promote high levels of client satisfaction through prompt response to service requirements
  • Develop strong vendor relationships to integrate contractors into high-quality service delivery
  • Support BPD and WSS activities at site
Team Leadership & Management
  • Direct and mentor JLL on-site team to promote engagement and excellence in service delivery
  • Manage UAW employees and coordinate employee PTO/vacation scheduling with coverage planning
  • Maintain employee training schedules and records
  • Ensure 100% employee safety training compliance
  • Perform timely safety incident reporting and monitoring

  • Experience in medical facility operations and medical waste disposal
  • Administrative support capabilities
  • Advanced building automation system expertise
  • Energy management and conservation program experience
  • Housekeeping and janitorial services oversight
  • Innovation mindset with track record of adding value through process improvements
  • Experience supporting client security teams and security systems integration
  • Background in manufacturing or industrial facility environments

Communication:

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to tailor messaging to diverse audiences
  • Open, honest, and transparent communication style

Operational:

  • Emergency response and crisis management experience
  • Safety compliance and incident reporting expertise
  • Strong documentation and record-keeping abilities
  • Mobile equipment maintenance knowledge

Leadership & Management:

  • Proven experience managing union (UAW) employees
  • Strong team leadership and mentoring capabilities
  • Budget management experience
  • Vendor and contractor management skills
