Hourly Pay Range:

$35.16 - $54.50 - The hourly pay rate offered is determined by a candidate's expertise and years of experience, among other factors.

Job Summary:

The Senior Financial Analyst, Labor Management & Benchmarking supports system-wide labor performance management across Endeavor Health through advanced analytics, benchmarking, reporting, and operational partnership. This role translates labor, productivity, staffing, volume, and financial data into actionable insights that help leaders understand performance, identify opportunities, and improve labor utilization across the organization.

This role is highly operational and leader-facing, extending beyond traditional financial reporting to help leaders understand performance trends, identify root causes, and act on labor improvement opportunities. The Senior Financial Analyst helps evaluate staffing and productivity opportunities, explain labor variance drivers, and support action-oriented improvement efforts across hospitals, ambulatory, medical group, corporate, and service-line operations.

The Senior Financial Analyst will support standardized reporting, Strata Productivity Reporting, benchmarking analytics, variance review, leader education, and cross-functional initiatives tied to labor expense, productive hours, premium labor, agency utilization, staffing models, and operational performance. This position partners closely with operational leaders, FP&A, Decision Support, HR, and other stakeholders to ensure leaders have accurate data, clear interpretation, and practical recommendations to support informed decision-making.

This position reports to the System Director, Labor Management & Benchmarking.

Primary Responsibilities:

Labor Management, Productivity & Benchmarking

* Support system-wide labor productivity monitoring through standardized reporting, variance analysis, benchmarking, and trend review across hospitals, medical group, and corporate.

* Analyze labor performance drivers including labor expense, productive dollars, non-productive dollars, premium dollars, overtime, agency utilization, staffing mix, volume changes, and budget-to-actual performance among other metrics.

* Use internal and external benchmarking tools to identify performance variation, quantify opportunities, and support recommendations for operational improvement.

* Partner with leaders to interpret labor performance results, identify root causes, and translate findings into prioritized action plans.

* Support the development of labor opportunity assessments, staffing reviews, and scenario models to inform workforce planning and operational decision-making.

* Evaluate complex labor issues and present clear, data-backed recommendations related to staffing models, productivity drivers, premium labor, agency utilization, and operational efficiency.

Reporting, Systems & Data Integrity

* Build, maintain, and distribute standardized labor reports, dashboards, scorecards, and ad hoc analyses for frontline managers, senior leaders, FP&A, HR, and other operational stakeholders.

* Serve as a power user and subject matter resource for labor management reporting platforms.

* Extract, validate, and reconcile labor, financial, volume, and supplemental data to ensure accurate and reliable reporting.

* Identify data quality issues, reporting gaps, and process improvement opportunities; collaborate with Finance, Decision Support, HR, IT, and operational teams to resolve issues.

* Support system implementations, enhancements, testing, training, and adoption activities related to labor management and benchmarking tools.

* Guide stakeholders on data sources, limitations, metric definitions, and appropriate interpretation of labor and productivity results.

Leader Partnership, Education & Adoption

* Educate operational leaders on labor reporting concepts, metric interpretation, variance drivers, benchmarking methodology, and appropriate use of productivity data.

* Prepare clear written summaries, executive-ready presentations, and meeting materials that synthesize key findings, recommended actions, and expected operational or financial impact.

* Support recurring labor performance routines, including variance review, MOR support, commentary workflows, and targeted follow-up with operational leaders.

* Build strong relationships with site, service-line, and system leaders to promote consistent labor management practices and data-informed decision-making.

* Function as a change agent by helping leaders adopt new tools, reporting standards, and performance management routines.

* Communicate complex analytical findings in a clear, focused, and practical manner for both technical and non-technical audiences.

Project & Process Improvement Support

* Participate in cross-functional initiatives focused on labor optimization, productivity improvement, staffing alignment, premium labor reduction, and operational efficiency.

* Support annual budget and planning processes by providing labor-specific analytics, benchmarking context, and validation of staffing.

* Assist with governance and approval processes by providing technical analysis, variance support, and data-backed recommendations.

* Partner with departments to scope, pilot, and scale initiatives that optimize staffing, reduce avoidable labor spending, improve throughput, and support strategic workforce planning.

* Track outcomes of labor initiatives and corrective action plans to evaluate impact and support sustained improvement.

* Demonstrate initiative, sound judgment, professionalism, adaptability, and ownership in a fast-paced, evolving healthcare environment.

* Maintain confidentiality when working with sensitive labor, financial, staffing, and operational information.

What you will need:

* Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, Healthcare Administration, Analytics, Labor Management, or related field.

* Minimum of 3 years of experience in financial analysis, healthcare operations analytics, labor productivity, workforce analytics, decision support, benchmarking, performance improvement, or a related analytical role.

* Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including the ability to analyze large datasets, build models, validate results, and summarize findings for leadership.

* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to identify trends, explain variances, and translate data into actionable recommendations.

* Ability to communicate complex data clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.

* Strong written communication, presentation development, and stakeholder management skills.

* Ability to contribute effectively both independently and as part of a larger team.

* Ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and adapt to changing operational needs.

* Strong attention to detail, data integrity, confidentiality, and professional judgment.

* Desire to learn, grow, and seek increased responsibility within a system-level labor management function.

Preferred Education, Experience and/or Skills:

* MBA, MHA, CPA, Lean Six Sigma, Certified Healthcare Financial Professional, or related advanced credential.

* Experience in healthcare labor management, productivity reporting, staffing analytics, operational finance, decision support, benchmarking, or performance improvement.

* Experience with Strata including StrataJazz, Axiom, Productivity Reporting, Management Reporting, Comparative Analytics, and Position Control.

* Experience with Vizient ODB, Workday, Tableau, Power BI, SQL, or similar analytics/reporting platforms.

* Experience supporting operational leaders, clinical departments, service lines, or multi-site healthcare operations.

* Familiarity with labor metrics such as productive hours, FTE utilization, hours per unit of service, premium labor, overtime, agency utilization, productivity index, labor expense variance, and budget-to-actual performance.

* Experience developing dashboards, executive summaries, variance reports, staffing models, or operational performance presentations.
