Aviation Systems Engineering Company
paid holidays, tuition assistance, 401(k)
United States, Maryland, Patuxent River
May 27, 2026

Description

What You'll Do:

As the Systems Engineer, you will support the Aviation Performance/Proficiency Analytics (APPA) team within a Live-Virtual-Constructive (LVC) system-of-systems environment. The selected candidate will provide technical expertise in systems integration, architecture development, interoperability, and data management supporting complex DoD training and operational environments.

This role requires knowledge of systems engineering processes, LVC architectures, enterprise networking, and multi-domain integration to ensure reliable, scalable, and secure system performance across distributed environments.

This is an on-site position that can be based at NAS Patuxent River, MD or at NAWCTSD in Orlando, FL.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the integration of APPA into Live-Virtual-Constructive (LVC) system-of-systems architectures.
  • Establish and maintain configuration control processes for interfaces between APPA systems, weapons models, constructive entity-generating systems, and aircraft platforms.
  • Analyze and resolve technical and architectural issues related to interoperability across LVC networks and distributed systems.
  • Develop and maintain Systems Engineering Technical Review (SETR) documentation and support technical review activities throughout the system lifecycle.
  • Design and implement scalable solutions for multi-level security enterprise networks and cloud-based data environments.
  • Support the integration of systems used to harvest, ingest, process, and store mission and training data from live, virtual, and constructive entities and associated systems.
  • Ensure high-confidence data ingestion, data integrity, and reliable system performance assessment capabilities.
  • Integrate advanced analytics, visualization tools, and high-fidelity modeling technologies to support event reconstruction, mission analysis, and operational performance assessments.
  • Support development of adaptive learning and training capabilities through data-driven system enhancements.
  • Ensure compliance with Department of the Navy (DoN) data governance policies, cybersecurity requirements, and systems engineering standards.
  • Collaborate with software developers, network engineers, analysts, and government stakeholders to support program objectives and technical execution.
  • Position will require frequent travel (at least one trip every six weeks). Trip times will vary in duration.

This description outlines the general nature and scope of the role. Additional duties may be assigned as necessary.
