POSITION SUMMARY: The Ventricular Assist Device (VAD) Coordinator and Advanced Heart Failure Advanced Practice Provider (APP) Supervisor provides specialized care to patients with advanced heart failure and durable mechanical circulatory support. This position combines direct patient care (50%) with program coordination responsibilities (50%) with overarching supervisory responsibilities. The APP reports to the Manager of APPs in collaboration with the Cardiac Surgery Service Line Director of the Cardiovascular Institute to include the surgical and medical director of the VAD program. The APP works collaboratively with the cardiothoracic surgeons and the advanced HF team, working in a multidisciplinary role to evaluate, treat, and manage complex heart failure patients across the inpatient and outpatient settings, while coordinating care for patients supported with left ventricular assist devices (LVADs). QUALIFICATIONS Master's degree from accredited nurse practitioner or physician assistant program. Minimum 5 years of cardiovascular clinical experience. Current licensure as NP or PA. BLS and ACLS certification EXPERIENCE: Experience in cardiac care or critical care is required. Experience as a VAD Implant coordinator strongly preferred Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills. Experience and skills with electronic health record required. Knowledge of and compliance with RIDOH, Joint Commission, DNV, HIPPA, ACGME and other regulatory bodies and standards. Computer skills including Microsoft Office.
