Job Summary

Location: Atlanta, GA

Status: FTE

Shift/Schedule : 5am-1pm/ 12pm -8:30pm (Rotating)

The Perioperative Supply Chain Team Lead is a working team lead responsible for providing operational leadership, inventory oversight, vendor coordination, and workflow execution during assigned shifts. This role actively participates in supply chain duties while coordinating daily activities across perioperative departments (OR, Endoscopy, SPD, etc.). In collaboration with SCO Coordinators and under the direction of the Perioperative Supply Chain Manager, the Team Lead ensures accurate inventory control, timely restocking, vendor delivery verification, and shift-based decision-making.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Team Lead Support_25%
- Leads and performs shift-level duties while coordinating team workflow, ensuring timely and accurate execution of supply chain tasks.
- Assigns and prioritizes tasks to support shift demand and case volume.
- Works alongside staff to complete restocking, inventory pulls, receiving, and redistribution.
- Provides in-the-moment coaching and redirection to meet expectations.
- Assist Coordinates shift hand-offs and documents shift outcomes. s SCO Coordinators in executing and maintaining zone accountability.
- Assists SCO Coordinators in executing and maintaining zone accountability.

Inventory Control_20%
- Maintains accurate and efficient inventory flow through PAR management, usage review, and rotation control in alignment with cost stewardship goals.
- Participates in restocking and ensures FIFO/LIFO protocols are followed.
- Supports cycle count accuracy and tracks high-dollar item movement.
- Assists with identifying expired, obsolete, excess, or misused inventory.

Vendor Relations_20%
- Supports vendor delivery validation and coordination of critical items for surgical readiness.
- Verifies arrival of time-sensitive deliveries.
- Collaborates with nursing, SPD, and anesthesia techs to resolve urgent supply needs. Documents recurring shift-level barriers and proposes solutions.

Collaboration_20%
- Fosters a positive shift environment by promoting collaboration, shared accountability, and continuous skill development. Ensures safety practices and cleanliness standards are met across assigned shift and locations.
- Offers guidance and in-the-moment training for staff. Promotes a supportive team culture with shared ownership. Supports staff development through knowledge-sharing and modeling proper workflows. Monitors for expired products, tripping hazards, PPE compliance, and temperature-sensitive storage. Ensures supply rooms meet Joint Commission, and internal audit readiness standards. Escalates any safety incidents immediately and takes interim protective measures.

Administrative Tasks_10%
- May take immediate action to prevent safety violations; escalates for follow-up. Provides coaching and feedback; not responsible for formal evaluations. Authorized to troubleshoot and redirect efforts to maintain service levels. Can recommend improvements; not authorized to approve budgets or purchases. May make real-time decisions within scope; escalates disputes or delays. Responsible for operational flow and task alignment during shift; escalates unresolved issues.

QUALIFICATIONS:

5+ years Job-related experience including hospital supply chain, preferably in surgical or procedural settings

EDUCATION:

High School Diploma/GED
