The Medical Assistant supports physicians and clinical staff in delivering high-quality patient care while providing excellent customer service to patients and the practice.

Responsibilities
  • Assist with direct patient care and clinical support tasks
  • Obtain patient histories, vital signs, and verify medications
  • Prepare charts, complete data entry, and manage documentation
  • Perform routine procedures including EKGs, rapid strep tests, urine dips, spirometry, and nebulizer treatments
  • Administer vaccines, injections, and medications
  • Educate patients on medical instructions and care plans
  • Coordinate referrals, pre-authorizations, and follow-up care
  • Monitor quality reports and help close gaps in patient care
  • Maintain medical supply inventory and vaccine storage compliance
  • Follow OSHA, HIPAA, infection control, and Department of Health regulations
  • Provide excellent customer service and patient care
  • Attend trainings and perform additional duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications
  • High School diploma or equivalent required
  • Completion of a Medical Assistant training program
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification required - American Heart Association
  • Experience using EMR and scheduling software preferred
  • Strong communication, organizational, and patient care skills
  • Ability to remain calm and professional in emergency situations
Work Environment & Physical Requirements
  • Healthcare setting with direct patient contact
  • Frequent standing, walking, and use of medical equipment
  • Ability to lift supplies or assist patients up to 50 pounds
  • Adherence to safety and infection control procedures

Pay Range:

$18.13-$29.90
