Honors College

Job Description

Performs in-person administrative and office support activities for the MU Honors College, including the Associate Dean, the MedOpp Program, Honors Scholarships and Research Office, the Office of Global and National Fellowships (OGNF), and Missouri Scholars Academy (MSA).

The College: The Honors College at the University of Missouri serves roughly 3000 high-achieving undergraduates through a challenging curriculum, academic programs, and extra-curricular events. Among the programs housed within the College, MedOpp serves around 1500 students though individual appointments, 400 more through programs and events, and 200 in an intensive application and credentialing process per year. The Fellowships Office serves around 500 students, holds over 100 events and workshops, and supports nearly 300 fellowship applications annually; the Scholarship and Research Coordinator is the Honors advisor for 24 prestigious Stamps Scholars and supports over 200 additional students receiving 7 other kinds of scholarships in their academics and cocurricular activities.

Responsibilities include:
* scheduling and facilitating student appointments and other meetings
* managing the Associate Dean and Fellowship Manger's calendars
* informing students about MedOpp, Scholarships, and OGNF
* assisting onsite work study students as needed
* marketing, planning and coordinating events and workshops
* invoicing and fee processing as well as financial reconciliation
* communicating, both verbally and in writing, and collaborating with a wide range of internal and external constituents (e.g., administrators, faculty, staff, students), various MU departments and outside vendors, community members, and donors
* creating and maintaining databases and rosters, including basic data entry and management of Qualtrics surveys
* selecting and ordering materials
* updating various printed and online/digital (e.g., web, social media) materials
* providing general office clerical duties including answering phones, collecting mail, answering emails for the office resource accounts
* occasionally off-campus errands such as picking up food for events
* building coordination activities (office keys, submitting work orders)
* providing other office support and administrative duties as needed and assigned.

Shift

This position is expected to work a consistent schedule of 35-40 hours per week, Monday through Friday, during standard business hours between 8:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m

Minimum Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent and at least 5 years of experience from which comparable knowledge and skills can be acquired is necessary

Preferred Qualifications

Prefer applicants have some college or a university degree; previous experience in an office setting or educational setting; familiarity with event or program planning; excellent organizational and communication skills; a willingness to support others and attention to detail; experience using or willingness to learn word processing, Excel, Adobe lnDesign, software programs.

Anticipated Hiring Range

Salary Range: $15.10 - $18.00 per hour

Grade: GGS-6
