Responsibilities

This position is responsible for overseeing the daily clinical activities of the therapeutic apheresis department.

Essential Functions:

    Manages, trains, mentors and develops assigned staff,
  • Ensures adherence to SOPs, regulations, guidelines, practices and policies.
  • Maintains quality patient care, process improvement plans and excellent customer service.
  • Assists to achieve the financial objective of the department through annual budget and cost analysis preparation.
  • Works in conjunction with medical staff to review all patient treatments and recommended treatment plans.
  • Communicates with referring physicians and hospitals and acts as a professional resource.
  • Assist the medical staff with operations planning and problem resolution to achieve program goals.
  • Performs cell collection procedures as needed and assist in managing of studies.
  • Develops and implements a continuous a quality improvement program and risk management activities.
  • Develop and implement a staff training plan to ensure staff comprehension of all apheresis procedures, possible procedure related complications, new directives and regulatory guidelines.
  • Assists marketing in establishing procedural rates for new and existing customers and defining project margins.
  • Exemplifies CBC's Customer Service Mission and Core Values.

Other Functions:

  • Participates in meetings and committees as needed.
  • Makes recommendations for improvements of business unit's processes and practices.
  • Works on special projects as assigned.
  • Any related duties as assigned.


Qualifications

Education & Experience

Education:

Bachelor's Degree in Nursing

Experience:

Five years of experience in nursing with at least three years in a critical care capacity, experience must include supervisory/managerial experience.

Any combination of education, training and experience that has suppled the necessary knowledge, skills and experience to perform the essential functions of the job.

Licenses / Certifications

Current RN licenses in Missouri and Kansas or ability to obtain license in a state in which not currently licensed within one year of hire.

Knowledge:

Knowledge of a variety of software applications (Microsoft Office Suite).

  • Ability to travel and to work evenings/weekends as necessary.
