Position Overview


We are seeking an experienced and results-driven Director of Facilities to oversee a $200M manufacturing operation, with responsibility spanning current facility management, capital expansion projects, and the potential development of a newly built manufacturing facility. This is a high-impact leadership role for a seasoned professional who thrives in a fast-paced, precision-driven environment.



Key Responsibilities


Project Management



  • Lead and coordinate all aspects of capital projects from initiation through completion, ensuring delivery on time and within budget.
  • Partner with contractors, engineering firms, equipment manufacturers, riggers, and freight agencies to plan and execute projects with minimal disruption to production operations.
  • Identify and resolve conflicting tasks, staffing requirements, and scheduling conflicts proactively.
  • Prepare and maintain project status reports, adjusting schedules and plans as conditions require.
  • Identify cost-saving opportunities throughout project planning and execution.


Facilities & Maintenance



  • Implement and sustain a World Class Preventative and Predictive Maintenance Program covering all major equipment, including vacuum systems, casting and heat treat furnaces, mechanical systems, machining equipment, and injection presses.
  • Track and report equipment uptime; identify recurring issues and implement permanent corrective solutions.
  • Support and drive Lean, 6S, and Kaizen initiatives across the facility.


Leadership & Communication



  • Direct and coordinate a team of 15-20 hourly and salaried employees, ensuring work progresses on schedule and within budget.
  • Serve as a primary point of contact for contractors, government agencies, and corporate personnel.
  • Provide technical guidance and resolve operational challenges in collaboration with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Prepare clear, accurate reports for management and other key audiences.



Qualifications



  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, Industrial Engineering, or a related field; advanced degree preferred.
  • 10+ years running a manufacturing facility with 5+ years of experience managing large capital expansion projects and maintenance programs for major manufacturing facilities.
  • Hands-on knowledge of construction methods and systems, including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and general maintenance.
  • Experience in the casting industry strongly preferred.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Project, Excel, and Word.
  • Exceptional attention to detail, organizational skills, and follow-through.

The salary range for this position reflects a broad spectrum of experience levels. Individual compensation within the range is determined by multiple factors, including relevant experience, education, certifications, job related skills, internal equity, and market conditions. We evaluate each candidate individually to ensure fair and competitive pay decisions.
