Agile Coach needed an opportunity with SOC's client to work in Gaithersburg, MD/Hybrid remote.

US Citizenship with the ability to obtain Security Clearance is required!

Responsibilities

Our client is seeking an experienced and influential Agile Coach to help drive agile transformation and delivery excellence. This role requires a strong coach and change agent who can build trust with teams, influence stakeholders at all levels, and help organizations overcome operational, cultural, and delivery obstacles.

The ideal candidate has deep experience coaching within government contracting organizations and understands the unique challenges associated with compliance requirements, matrixed organizations, legacy processes, and mission-focused delivery teams. This individual must be capable of winning over resistant teams, fostering collaboration, and creating sustainable agile practices that improve performance and outcomes.


  • Coach and mentor cross-functional teams, Scrum Masters, Product Owners, Release Train Engineers (RTEs), and leadership on Agile principles, frameworks, and best practices
  • Lead agile transformation initiatives across multiple teams and organizational levels
  • Provide coaching and implementation guidance for the Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) across teams
  • Support Agile Release Train (ART) execution, Program Increment (PI) Planning, and continuous improvement activities
  • Help teams identify and overcome delivery obstacles, organizational impediments, and process inefficiencies
  • Build credibility and trust with skeptical or resistant teams through strong relationship-building and servant leadership
  • Facilitate workshops, retrospectives, planning sessions, PI Planning events, and leadership engagements to drive continuous improvement
  • Assess team maturity and tailor coaching approaches to meet teams where they are
  • Partner with program leadership to align agile practices with government contracting requirements, compliance needs, and delivery objectives
  • Influence organizational change without direct authority
  • Promote transparency, accountability, collaboration, and outcome-focused delivery
  • Support adoption of metrics and agile reporting practices that provide meaningful insights without creating unnecessary overhead
  • Coach leaders on agile mindset, organizational agility, Lean-Agile leadership, and servant leadership principles
  • Foster a culture of continuous learning, adaptability, and innovation


Required Qualifications

  • 7+ years of Agile coaching experience, including enterprise-level transformation efforts
  • Demonstrated experience coaching within government contracting or federal environments
  • Proven experience implementing and coaching teams using the Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe)
  • Hands-on experience supporting Agile Release Trains (ARTs), PI Planning, and scaled agile delivery models
  • Proven success helping teams overcome resistance to change and improve collaboration and delivery effectiveness
  • Strong ability to influence and win over teams, stakeholders, and leadership through credibility and communication
  • Experience resolving organizational and team-level obstacles in complex environments
  • Deep understanding of Agile frameworks and methodologies including Scrum, Kanban, SAFe, Lean, and DevSecOps practices
  • Exceptional facilitation, communication, and conflict resolution skills
  • Ability to operate effectively in ambiguous, fast-paced, and highly matrixed organizations
  • Experience supporting programs with compliance, governance, and contractual delivery requirements
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
