Buyer Electronic Technologies International Fort Atkinson, WI Salary: $60,000 - $70,000
Reporting to the Purchasing Manager, ETI/ACH is looking to hire a Buyer who can simultaneously maintain daily purchasing activities and help drive process improvement for the department. This individual will be primarily responsible for creating and maintaining purchase orders for assigned material. Monitoring vendor performance and evaluating tradeoffs among cost, lead time, risk, and supplier capacity. Helping with inventory control and handling non-routine issues such as material shortages, quality problems, and delivery delays. Both written and verbal communication skills will be necessary. This role needs to be detail oriented, organized, efficient, and agile. In order to be successful, this role also should be motivated by setting goals, analyzing data, and producing results. Key Responsibilities
* Team member in the procurement of materials for ETI, ACH, and Lakewood. * Makes independent purchasing decisions within defined policies, contracts, and authority limits. * Plays a key role in achieving KPI goals relative to on-time delivery, purchase price variance, freight cost, and resolution of material reject reports (MRRs). * Product and process familiarity is a plus for sourcing. * Aggressively drive supply chain cost reduction. * Monitor & improve overall supplier lead-time. * Coordinates the optimization and utilization of the ERP system within the purchasing and materials management/control functions. * Resolves order-related issues such as pricing mismatches, lead time conflicts, minimum order quantities, and receiving discrepancies. * Help maintain compliance to current ISO standards and customer specific requirements as applicable. * Provide support to internal and external customers including manufacturers, distributors, peer group members, and shop floor personnel.
JOB COMPLEXITY
Performs high-volume order entry into ERP/MRP systems, ensuring accuracy of pricing, quantities, delivery dates, and part specification
Resolves supply disruptions by selecting alternative sourcing or expediting solutions with limited guidance.
Requires judgment to interpret demand forecasts and translate them into timely procurement actions.
Manages multiple commodities, suppliers, and purchase orders simultaneously, often under tight deadlines.
MINIMUM ATTRIBUTES & SKILLS
Full understanding of MRP, supply and demand, and inventory management
2+ years of experience in purchasing, inventory control, or production operations Communication and cross-functional collaboration
Problem solving and general business acumen Proficient in Microsoft Office and web browser software
Team oriented and personable
Ability to execute work independently
STANDOUT ATTRIBUTES & SKILLS
5+ years of experience in manufacturing environment
Bachelor's Degree from an accredited 4-year university in Business Administration, Supply Chain or Operations Management Functional expertise in Supply Chain Knowledge of Lean and/or Six Sigma principles
Relevant experience in the wire and cable industry APICS Certification
Success with Change Management and Process Improvement Project management skills
Cross functional knowledge with warehouse functions and organization Expert in Excel - Macros, programming, development
