| Essential Job Duties |
The Senior Stewardship Officer is a critical member of the Office of Development Communications and Stewardship, reporting to the Senior Director of Stewardship. This role is responsible for the execution of comprehensive donor relations strategies that build lasting partnerships and foster a deep culture of philanthropy at NC State.
The Senior Stewardship Officer serves as a primary liaison to campus partners, providing strategic guidance to ensure donor engagement aligns with university best practices. Balancing the development of individualized stewardship plans for principal-level donors with the administration of broad recognition programs, the position requires exceptional project management, effective time management, and a meticulous eye for detail to ensure all stewardship touchpoints are timely, accurate, and meaningful. |
| Other Responsibilities |
Essential functions of this position include, but are not limited to:
- Provides high-level stewardship support for principal-level donors, from concept development through implementation, including personalized engagement strategies, meaningful recognition, detailed impact reporting, and review of fund utilization.
- Participates in donor strategy sessions, leading and supporting stewardship-related action steps as needed.
- Oversee and advance the Milestone Appreciation Program, celebrating donors' cumulative giving and other important milestones.
- Help manage the acknowledgment process on behalf of senior leadership, ensuring timely, personalized messages of gratitude.
- Plan and deploy special day donor communications (e.g., birthdays, holidays).
- Assist with planning and implementation of other key office initiatives and events, including campaign stewardship, Red and White Week, Pack Appreciation Day, Day of Giving and others as needed.
- Support the Senior Director of Stewardship in developing toolkits, training, and resources to ensure campus-wide stewardship efforts align with best practices.
- Ensure accurate records are maintained in the advancement database.

Qualifications
| Minimum Education and Experience |
- Bachelor's degree and three years of related professional experience with increasing levels of responsibility.

| Other Required Qualifications |
- Demonstrate knowledge and understanding of the role of meaningful donor relations and stewardship to contribute to the overall strategic goals, mission, and priorities of University Advancement.
- Exhibit a strong customer service orientation and the ability to communicate effectively with varied groups and build collaborative relationships with internal colleagues and university partners.
- High-level project management experience; capable of managing competing priorities and multiple deadlines, and seeing projects through from beginning to end.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail and accuracy required.
- Demonstrated ability to take initiative, work independently as well as in a collaborative team environment.
- Proficient computing skills, including experience with Microsoft Office Suite, Google suite and database management and reporting.
- Demonstrate a high degree of sensitivity in dealing with confidential donor information.
- Be able to work to the demands of the position, which may occasionally exceed a 40-hour work week.
