Posting Summary
The Center for Advanced Infrastructure and Transportation ( CAIT) at the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering ( CEE) of Rutgers University invites applications for a non-tenure track position at the level of Assistant Research Professor in Transportation Engineering. Applicants in other areas of civil engineering with exceptional qualifications may also be considered. Candidates with a strong background in transportation infrastructure and experience in research project management are preferred.

The candidate is expected to advance research in transportation infrastructure durability, resilience, safety, facilitate interaction with various stakeholders, and organize knowledge exchange activities. The candidate should have strong oral and written communication skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team and demonstrate high levels of self-motivation. The position will initially be for one year with the possibility for extension based on performance and continuation of funding.

Qualifications






Minimum Education and Experience

  • PhD degree in Civil Engineering, or related fields
  • Expertise in conducting transportation infrastructure research using experiments, modeling and artificial intelligence
  • Demonstrated experiences in working on various projects and collaboration with researchers from different disciplines and different stakeholders
  • Demonstrated potential for developing an independent, externally funded research program.
  • Evidence of peer-reviewed scholarly publications and strong communication skills.


Certifications/Licenses
Professional licensure (e.g., FE, PE) and/or demonstrated applied engineering capability.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Postdoctoral research experience
  • Teaching experience on undergraduate and graduate courses
