Military Flight Controls DivisionSupporting aircraft worldwide, Parker Aerospace's Military Flight Controls Division (MFCD) provides primary and secondary flight control systems that make flight possible. Tested, proven and trusted in commercial and military applications for decades, MFCD provides precise position-control actuation solutions for military aircraft across the United States and with foreign partners. The division's JetPipe electrohydraulic servovalve (EHSV) technology is used across commercial and military aircraft around the world. Headquartered in Irvine, California, the Military Flight Controls Division is the global leader in fly-by-wire flight control systems and electrohydraulic products and offers the world's most advanced motor design capabilities for flight controls.

Summary:

Parker Aerospace MFCD is seeking an EHS Intern to support key site programs in safety, environmental compliance, and EHS data integrity. This internship provides hands-on experience with risk assessment, training content development, regulatory support, and compliance reporting in a high-performance aerospace manufacturing environment. Primary focus areas include Job Safety Analyses (JSAs), visual safety work instructions, training development, compliance assessments, regulatory reporting support, and EHS system data verification (Gensuite).

Key Responsibilities:

The EHS Intern will support priority site EHS initiatives by completing JSAs, improving safety documentation and training, and assisting with environmental compliance and reporting.

Key activities include:


  • Air and waste/water compliance assistance: Support annual VOC reporting (data collection and reconciliation) and help with compliance activities tied to AQMD, OCSD, and CUPA requirements, as applicable to site operations.

  • JSA completion and assessment: Complete/review Job Safety Analyses (JSAs), validate data quality, and summarize trends to strengthen hazard identification and control effectiveness.

  • Visual safety work instructions: Draft, update, and standardize visual work instructions in partnership with Operations to reinforce safe work practices.

  • Training material development: Create and/or update EHS training content (presentations, job aids, quizzes, and records) and support training coordination/logistics as assigned.

  • Environmental compliance support: Participate in compliance assessments, document gaps, and help track abatement/corrective actions to closure.

  • Regulatory reporting readiness: Assist with regulatory reporting and documentation control, including compiling and reconciling supporting data packages.

  • Gensuite data integrity verification: Perform local data integrity checks by validating Gensuite entries against field conditions, permits, logs, and source records.


Deliverables (By End of Internship):


  • Completed and documented set of JSAs (new or updated), with a summarized data assessment (themes, gaps, recommended actions).

  • A set of visual safety work instructions (created or revised) ready for shop-floor deployment.

  • At least one EHS training module (new or updated) with associated materials and completion documentation approach.

  • Summary of environmental compliance assessment observations with tracked actions/abatement support status.

  • Gensuite data integrity verification results and a prioritized correction list (as applicable).

  • Support package elements for annual VOC reporting and/or associated internal documentation.

  • A concise end-of-internship report-out covering work performed, outcomes, and recommended next steps.


Qualifications:

Currently enrolled in an accredited degree program (e.g., Environmental Health & Safety, Environmental Science, Industrial Hygiene, Occupational Safety, Engineering, or related field).

Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to produce clear documentation.

Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a team environment and collaborate across functions (EHS, Operations, Engineering, Quality).

Basic EHS knowledge, including general hazard awareness, safe work practices, and an interest in environmental compliance.
